David, that's a very interesting club track.
How frequently is it set up and broken down at the end of a night? It appears to be labor intensive, but you seem to have a lot of club members pitching in to get things done.

Hi
Thanks for the comments.
The track gets set up and taken down every week, the track was built at the start of 2011. As you can see as long as we have a few people who know what they are doing it does not take us long to prepare for a evenings racing or to pack up afterwards.

Very cool idea. Nice bit of kit.
Any plans for taking the show on the road?

We have no plan's to take the track "on the road" the room where the track is stored and set up to race on a Friday night is on the 1st floor. So getting the 8x4 foot sections of MDF out of the building is not the easyist of jobs. Plus the fact we would have to hire a van to move the track to another location.
What we do have is a couple of club members who have "plexy" tracks that we can take to fates and charity events, while I have a few small routed rally style tracks and a track designed for slot "Monster Trucks", which are easy to transport.
Our 5 lane club track is about 75 feet in lengh and if you have a look at our club web site you can see from the stats, what cars are being used in the various class's.

Here are a few more detail shots of how the track sections are joined together.

Nice work! Makes it easier to put together and break down again.
