General Rules
Common sense
If it is not listed in the rules, it is not legal!
MSCS Officials have the final say on all rules.
Entry fee:
No membership fee. $10 entry fee per class.
Race Format
Standard Races will have 2 minute heats with a 2 minute lane change.
Mid-season "Doubler" will have 3 minute heats with a 2 minute lane change.
Marshaling
All drivers are expected to marshal the race(s) preceding their own races. Failure to fulfill marshaling responsibilities will result in lap penalties and/or disqualification.
All cars will be impounded after all races to insure fair and proper marshaling responsibilities.
Lane Change
Following each lane change, all cars must be returned to the track at the position where they were taken off.
Lane change cards are required.
Cars may be moved backwards to allow easier restarting.If cars are put on forward of the stopping position it will result in a two (2) lap penalty. A second infraction will result in disqualification.
It is the drivers responsibility to know where his car has stopped.
Protest
A competitor may protest another racer's equipment by informing the race director before the start of the last heat.
A protest fee of $10 and a written protest form is required during the protest of a competitor's car. The race director will hold this protest form and fee until completion of the final heat.
Forms will be provided at all races.
Points
Points will be awarded based on finishing position (50, 48, 46, 44, 42, 40, etc.)
The top three in the championship will be paid at the end of the season.
SPEC LMP
Chassis
1. Any 4" chassis that is commercially available.
2. Must be stamped and formed metal only.
3. May brace chassis in any way.
4. A steel guide tongue reinforcement may be used, but the original guide tongue may not be removed, modified, or moved.
5. May use lightweight replacement pans, but must be from the same manufacturer.
6. Must use oilites only. No ball bearings permitted.
Gears/Axles/Wheels
1. 64 or 72 pitch gears.
2. 11 tooth (64 pitch) or 12 tooth (72 pitch) pinion only.
3. Solid steel axles only.
4. Rear tires must be black foam; 0.750" minimum.
5. Maximum width is 3-1/4".
6. 0.062" clearance at the back, up to the rear axle including the gear
7. No minimum at front, but front wheels must touch track if chassis is rocked side to side.
8. Rear axle: 3/32".
9. Front axle 0.047" minimum or sticker fronts.
10. No Speed rubber.
Lead Wires
1. Magnet wire or magnet type wire is not allowed.
2. Guide clips are allowed.
3. May add wire guide or retainer.
Bodies
1. Bodies must be commercially available and on approved body list.
2. Maximum rear spoiler height of 1-5/8", measured from the tech block to the top of the spoiler.
3. Must have three (3) scale appearing numbers.
4. Bodies must be fully painted and cover the entire chassis.
5. May reinforce body with tape or Lexan.
6. Front wheel wells may be cut out or left clear. No cutting into top of fenders!
7. Body must have fully-painted 3D Lexan interior; chassis or track must not be visible.
Motors
1. Sealed Pro Slot PS-4002-FK only.
2. Motors must remain sealed.
3. May change brushes and springs.
4. Only three-coil replacement springs are allowed and any 36D sized motor brush may be used.
5. Brushes may not be cut, slotted, or modified on the surface touching the commutator.
6. No spring insulation or shunt wires are allowed.
7. No other modifications allowed on motors!
Group 10 LMP
Chassis
1. Any 4" chassis that is commercially available.
2. Must be stamped and formed metal only.
3. May brace chassis in any way
4. A steel guide tongue reinforcement may be used, but the original guide tongue may not be removed, modified, or moved.
5. May use lightweight replacement pans, but must be from the same manufacturer.
6. May use oilites or ball bearings.

1. Any pitch gears.
2. Solid steel axles only.
3. Rear tires must be black foam; 0.750" minimum.
4. Maximum width is 3-1/4".
5. 0.062" clearance at the back, up to the rear axle including the gear.
6. No minimum at front, but front wheels must touch track if chassis is rocked side to side.
7. Rear axle: 3/32".
8. Front axle 0.047" minimum; no stubbies.
9. No Speed rubber.
10. Front wheels 0.500" minimum; can use O-ring front tires or sticker fronts.
Lead Wires

Bodies
1. Bodies must be commercially available and on approved body list.

3. Arms must be tagged American 16D.
4. Single ceramic magnets only.
5. May epoxy or super glue magnets.
6. Air gap honing is allowed.
7. May use any three-coil spring.
8. May use any brushes; cutting or drilling is not permitted.
9. No aluminum endbells.
10. Ball bearings in can only.
Armature Specs
1. Minimum diameter: 0.513".
2. Minimum stack length: 0.600".
3. Wire size: AWG #30.
4. Min number turns per pole: 70.
5. Tag: 16D
GTP
Chassis

8. Body must have fully-painted 3D Lexan interior; chassis or track must not be visible.
9. Floppy interiors not permitted.
Motors
1. Parts must be commercially available.
2. Any D-Can set-up.
3. Must be tagged "S16D" American armature only.
4. Extreme S16D arms not permitted. No tie wrapping or comm caps.
5. Single ceramic magnets only.
6. May epoxy or super glue magnets.
7. Air gap honing is allowed.
8. May use any three- coil spring only.
9. May use any brushes; cutting or drilling is not permitted.
10. No aluminum endbells.
11. Ball bearing in can only.
Armature Specs
1. Minimum diameter: 0.513".
2. Minimum stack length: 0.490".
3. Wire size: AWG #28.
4. Min number turns per pole: 60.
5. Tag: S16D.
RETRO G7/68
CHASSIS: Are to be scratchbuilt from the listed materials or kits. Allowed Materials are Brass in sheet, rod and tube forms. Bronze rod for chassis main rails/rails. Steel in piano/music wire, pin tube(s). Steel guide holders are allowed but can not exceed a max width of 1" ( 25.4 mm ) and be no longer than 1 1/2" ( 38.1 mm ) in length. No other materials allowed in chassis construction.
Chassis are to be inline drive type. Motor shaft must be 90 degrees to the rear axle. No offset motors allowed. The motor shaft is to be on the centerline of the chassis.
Floating pin tubes are allowed. Steel parts cut from Flexi type chassis are not allowed.
Chassis must have a three sided and one piece rear motor bracket with a minimum height of .200" in the areas between the motor mount and bushing/bearing/tube areas . Bracket width is open. No cut and soldered rear brackets allowed. The motor must be supported by the bracket and the bracket extend to touch the rear axle bushings/bearings/tube(s). The motor must be soldered or screwed to the bracket.
Keyed or Snap type chassis construction is not allowed. Chassis Main Rails of round steel wire or round brass rod/tubing may be ground/sanded a maximum of 20% of the wire diameter and must be ground/sanded on the bottom side of the wire and chassis only. No flat or strip type rails allowed. Chassis Main Rails must connect the front of the chassis to the rear motor bracket. No Pan type or one piece type chassis allowed. The bottom surface of the chassis and motor must be straight and flat in all directions ( front to rear and side to side ) with no sagging or drooping or bowing parts below the chassis main rails. This will be checked with a straight edge ruler.
All hinged movements must be oriented in one and the same direction excluding the drop arm. Shaker pans are allowed. Centerline hinges are not allowed.
Maximum chassis width is 3 1/8" ( 79.38 mm )
MOTOR: The only allowed motor for the G7-68 class is the Sealed Pro-Slot PS-4002-FK motor ONLY.
All MOTORS MUST USE AN 8 TOOTH PINION. NO modifications to the motors or seals are allowed. Racers may change brushes and springs. Only 3 coil replacement springs are allowed and any 36-D sized motor brush may be used. Brushes may not be cut, slotted or modified on the surface touching the commutator. No spring insulation or shunt wires are allowed. NO OTHER MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED TO MOTORS.
BODY: Any Approved Can Am/WSC Coupe body may be used. Bodies must be 1968 or earlier models based on the actual full sized cars of that era. See Approved G7-68 body chart on Approved Body Listing Page. Bodies may not be modified from their original molded factory form. Max width of bodies and spoilers are 3 1/4". No excessive cutting allowed. Front wheel wells must be cut out. Rear wheel wells are to be cut out unless the real car was run with the rear wheels enclosed. Rear of body may be cut out. Tape to reinforce bodies is allowed.
Bodies must have three numbers and be painted. Bodies may have clear sides and no higher than 1/4" ( 6.35 mm ) measured from the bottom of the body when mounted on the car. Windshields/windows must be clear or tinted as on the full size car. Must not be able to see the chassis through the body and body must be opaque except for the clear sides and windshield areas or any other area ( air vents ) that was open on the full size car. There is to be a minimum of 1/16" ( 1.59mm ) vertical front area ( grill, bumper ) on the front of the body.
REAR BODY SKIRTS: There is no maximum limit to rear body skirts behind the rear tires in Can-Am, World Sports Car (Coupe), Retro Anglewinder, G7-68 and Formula One/Indy. No material of any kind may be added on to the body to extend rear body skirts. All rear body skirts must clear by .040 sitting on the tech block.
Front and Rear tires and/or chassis may not be visible outside the body when looking down on the car/body.
Body interiors must be used. Must be formed and 3-D. No flat interiors allowed. Must be painted a minimum of two colors. Must have driver, helmet, arms, shoulders and steering wheel molded in. The cockpit area must be cut out on the mold lines of the body.
REAR BODY HEIGHT: Maximum of 1 3/8" ( 34.93 mm ) measured at the highest point of the body at the rear of the body. Measurement does not include the rear spoiler.
REAR SPOILER: Max height is 1/2" ( 12.7 mm ). Spoiler must be attached to the rear of the body and not on the top of the body. Rear spoiler can be no wider than the body. No additional air control devices are allowed. No front diaplanes or side dams allowed. Notches and "punched" holes are permitted. A maximum of two bends allowed. High mounted wings are not permitted.
FRONTS: Minimum Diameter .750" ( 19.05 mm ). Minimum Width .225" ( 5.72 mm ). No O-Ring fronts allowed. Must be two pieces a wheel and a foam rubber tire. Foam rubber tire must be glued to the front wheels. Front tire foam must be Black and made from natural, wonder or SBR type rubber. No silicone material(s) allowed. Fronts may be coated with "super glue" or finger nail polish. Contact patch must touch the entire track surface. No angle cut or treading allowed. Tire edges may be rounded 1/16" maximum radius.
REARS: Minimum Diameter is .790" ( 20.64 mm ). Maximum Width is .810" ( 20.57 mm ). Must be made using Natural Rubber tires only. Fish/Tuna ( treated or untreated ) and Wonder rubber is allowed. No Speed, silicone or synthetic rubber allowed. Rear tires may not be angle cut. Rear tire/wheel width may be narrowed.
Only natural rubber compound tires that have a MAXIMUM manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) of $14.00 U.S. (not a discounted retail price) will be allowed.
No wheels/hubs larger than .625 O.D. will be allowed.
WIDTH: Maximum width of chassis and front and rear track is 3 1/8" ( 79.38 mm ). Axles may not be wider than 3 1/8" and may not protrude outside the outer wheel edge. Front wheels are not allowed to "extend" out past the sides of the body.
FRONT CLEARANCE: Minimum is .015" ( 0.38 mm ). Car/chassis is to be checked on a flat block with the front and rear tires supporting the car/chassis without the guide and the most forward part of the chassis will be measured for the minimum .015" clearance. No tape or other materials are allowed anywhere on the bottom of the chassis.
REAR CLEARANCE: Minimum is .040" ( 1.27 mm ). Car/chassis is to be checked on a flat block with the front and rear tires supporting the car/chassis without the guide. The motor bracket and all wires, pans, etc must clear by this measurement from the aft side of the motor.
The crown gear must also clear by .040".
AXLES: Minimum diameter of 3/32" ( 2.38 mm ) allowed front and rear. Axles must be solid steel and no hollow or lightweight material axles allowed. Flattened axles are allowed. Threaded front axles allowed.
BEARINGS/BUSHINGS: Ball Bearings or oilite bushings allowed on front and rear axles and in front wheels.
WEIGHT: Minimum ready to race car weight is 100 grams.
GEARS: 48 pitch commercially available pinions and crown gears only. Must use 8 tooth pinion only and crown gears are limited to 26, 27, 28 and 29. Gears may not be modified with the exception of a sleeve only. No lightening of the plastic or metal gear hub. The plastic portion of 29T crown gears may be sanded and/or machined to meet minimum clearance requirements. No other modification of crown gears is permitted.
GUIDES: May use and commercially available guide flag. May use any lead wire, guide clips and guide nut.
