I know this subject was posted before, but does anybody know where I can send out my diamond lathe bit for sharpening? The tip has a chip on it and doesn't cut right.

Thanks.

(800) 628-8665

Cost around $30 plus shipping.

They are out of business. The company that bought them out is:

J & M Diamond Tool
43 Roger Williams Ave
Rumford, RI 02916

(401) 431 2220

Cost is $29.99 plus $8 return shipping

I believe I read Carter was sold to a Rhode Island company two or three years ago and no longer exists.

Johnny "VW" had the name of a company in the Boston area where the company he works for gets diamond sharpening done.

That would be:

Neuber Diamond

10 B Street

Burlington, MA 01803

(781) 273-5656

Depending on the size of the chip, they may or may not be able to resharpen it.

They also produce PCD bits (polycrystalline diamond) which tend to be cheaper and tougher than natural diamond bits. That's what we use to dress aluminum oxide form wheels here at work.

"Whatever..."
