Bob, would the RAM 426 ( I think that's the #) and others like it with the rear axle integral with the motor be considered "open frame" ?

If you consider the Kemtron padlocks, you must include the Pittman (DC 65, DC 85) and Ram (850 & 857) and their varients. The common elements of this list is Alnico single magnet and no can. Around Chicago, about all we used were the big Rams and Pittmansand some Kemtrons on three batteries (36+ volts)
The first ring magnets included the Globe and Wilson. A dual magnet motor of the time is the Bonner. Its arm was wound to what could be considered a three volt wind and barely could handle 13 volts. I used some in 1/32 scale along with Triang/Scalextric and Pittman DC 60 and 62 before the proper motors came out.

Posted in Car/Model probably in 1966 is the use of a circular magnet from I'm believing a Dodge windshield washer motor. IIRC this setup was only legal in the fuel dragster class.

Last call for the approved motor list that will be legal for the 'Rods and Rails' proxy.
Any missing?
Laminated
In-line less axle bracket.
In-line w/ axle bracket

Bob,
For some reason I just saw this list today; added a few in the padlock thread, since I saw that first.
Just thought of another in the laminated category: the Fury (will have to add details later, but it's a Kemtron lookalike)
You could just say any period open-frame or non-can motor...
For what it's worth, the Mila Migila Capalupo is just a Tyco 952 with a wolf decal - but in fact I don't know if they used a different wind - they claimed 35k, which was more than the 952 specs if I remember right...
Just offhand, there are all the British motors, K's, MRRC, etc., but probably only the split 6-pole (as in their 4WD cars), or the big 1/24 monster would be competitive. Both Pittman and Ram had variants: 704 and 704A, 426 and 426A.

On MY list is the rare (even in the 1960's) Lindsey motor- one piece alnico magnet, no laminations. L-190, L1010, L1020; L-1030.
Only differences was in the bearing holder lengths for the various train uses.
