I remember when you brought that Penton over to BPR. That is a BEAUTY!
Let me know when you're done with the Husky; I want it!
Phil, you do like the old but great dirt bikes. Keep it going Phil.

I had the 125 Penton (not the Six Day) a couple years older than that one with a downpipe. Those motors were fast!! Mine would start if I just pushed the kick about 4 inches by hand sometimes.
I rode a guy's Bul once and wasn't too impressed with the power compared to my Penton, especially when I found out it was a 250.

Looks like new!
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

The early ones were called steel tankers, I believe that would be what you had, Paul.
These bikes were made in the K.T.M. factory in Austria. After Husqvarna turned him down, John Penton turned to K.T.M., virtually unknown at that time, they made mainly bicycles. John a great Six Days, and an enduro rider commissioned them to build a bike to his specs, he became the importer and they were a huge success.
This one is the MX model; there was also the enduro model with lights, etc. I was fortunate to race one of these back in the day. They were the hot ticket in the 125 class, although the Bultacos were fast too; it was found a number of guys were running 175 top ends!
The end came soon after with the Honda Elsinore, YZ Yamaha etc. The John Penton Story is available on DVD or can be seen at your local theater if you gather enough friends. You can Google The John Penton Story if interested.

Good eye Bob! No carburetor either, I will be purchasing a vibratory polisher to do the carb, and some of the parts on the Husky restoration. The fact that I can use it on slot car chassis also is a win win situation.
