The tutorial says to use .047 for the bite bar. Has anyone tried anything else with success? The .047 just seems to leave a bit too much wiggle room. Would .055 be too restrictive?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Thx,

.055 on a C11 is not too restrictive by any means, Fast Beas.  I use it all the time, and I like lots of movement for my driving style. (or lack thereof :))

Most everyone in Great Lakes ISRA runs 0.55 bite bar. This is on a flat track so results may vary :good:

I note JK equips the chassis with a .50 bite bar.  Even with that, some add strips of .007 body armor on the chassis under the bar to restrict movement. You could put the body armor on the pans instead, or in addition.

Generally speaking, more movement lends to bumpy tracks, less movement lends to smooth tracks.

On fairly smooth hillclimbs I have had good luck with .047 and .007 body armor underneath.

I use a .055 bite bar and a piece of clear tape on the pans. Sometimes a couple pieces. I'm not a fan of up and down movement. I've seen racers use .047 and handle fine though.
Test, test, test and go test some more.

On my gtps I run the .050 bite bar with .007 reinforcement tape under the center of it on the center section and depending on track grip levels ill tape it down to the side pans
Loose Is fast but the ragged edge is faster
