This is something we are hoping will help racers in our series to improve their level of competition by seeing what the other racers are using in their setups. Often choosing the wrong tires or gearing will have a huge effect on your race. Our hope is that by seeing what the "fast guys" are running will help you raise the level of your racing and make the ORS events more fun and result in even closer finishes.

***Please remember this is a work in progress and we hope to improve with every post. ALSO.....the effectiveness of this will only be as good as those who completely and honestly fill out their tech sheet. And as a good competitor, and even more important, a good sportsman why wouldn't you?

Can you please post a "blank" copy of the Tech Form you ask your racers to complete?

Thanks :)

Rick:  It takes a a lot of time to pull that stuff together and I applaud Mike for taking the time to do it.  Hopefully all the stuff is also listed on the tech sheets like it should be so he could pull it together.

Noose, I am fully aware of the effort it takes. I have done loads of them. Once you have the template made, not so bad.........

A resource to racers from coast to coast on what racers are & aren't doing in retro racing in the Midwest. Hats off to mike McMasters and Eric Balicki for putting this together.  More work than all of us can imagine.

Hopefully this will help racers tune for the different tracks. It is something I have wanted to do from almost the beginning of our involvement in IRRA retro racing. I modified the tech sheet that has become standard in IRRA events (thanks Noose) adding the division between chassis kit maker and chassis builder and body style and body painter. Important info IMO. Now to pull it together into a sheet and make the info useful. Free time is very, very scarce for me running a full line hobby store so if it wasn't for the efforts of Eric Balicki it probably would not have happened. Eric has worked very hard on this and he and I will continue working on improvements until it is where we want it to be. Suggestions are welcomed.

For those who want to see a blank tech sheet I have added a link to a PDF copy of one. It is pretty specific to our ORS series but it may give you some ideas you can use for your own.

Very cool! Like most other processes, data entry is only as helpful as the information that is provided. Since you cannot force people to fill it in, there will always be a few that either leave the information blank or fudge some of the information.
