Actually, for what it's worth, here's link to the pics I've posted on a new TRRA Facebook page I created. The page isn't organized or anything; I just created it for the TRRA to have a presence on FB. Oh yeah, the link:

I couldn't figure out how to actually name the photo album.

Hey Richard, nice to see some Slot Car life in Tyler.  Is Tyler Pipe still there?  I hung around Tyler. /  Lindale in the early 80's for a while. No slots back then.   Ah those steak houses and catfish restaurants!

Tyler Pipe? Dunno. I don't live in Tyler; I drive 2 - 1/2 hours from Denton to get there. I'll ask one of the Tyler locals.

Tyler Pipe is (was) a major employer.  Recycle facility for smelting.  They made cast iron for plumbing.  Used to see huge piles of engine blocks as you entered the city.

There IS a somewhat large industrial facility on Hwy 69 as you come into Tyler from the north... could be Tyler Pipe. Of course, these days, ya gots ta hide everything behind a 10' fence... don't recall seeing old engine blocks. I'll check on it though. On a different historical note, one of the local slot racers tells me that ZZ Top cut their first album in Tyler.

Thanks, Paul. Felt good driving F-1. Couldn't get into a good rhythm consistently for Can-Am... got spanked.
