A big thanks To Bryan for such an outstanding Chassis, another win for Clip Rite Slot Car controller hook ups, and thanks to Eddie for such a nice track to race on. Another great day of racing leading up to the Checkpoint Cup in two weeks... Thanks to all the volunteer marshals and race directors, and to Nesta and Flygirl for the beautiful Checkpoint Cup Posters...... Remember, another warm up race this Saturday at Buena Park, put on by me, and we will run SCRRA rules, but you may run mulitple cars in both F1 and Can Am, so bring out those rides to prepare for the Checkpoint Cup and support BPR !

I did not know that Tanya was a motor option. Obviously illegal. What is going on? What is a Tanya?, and why is it scribbled on the bottom of a slot car.?
Posted 30 December 2014 - 12:28 PM
Methinks this is a rather loose practice race. There looks to be at least one Hawk 7 out there, no biggie. To be sure, no stubby cut motor shafts at the CPC. I'll do some trim for the anglewinder coupe.
Posted 30 December 2014 - 12:57 PM
A lot of folks cutoff shafts before the Powers That Be decided that is not allowed.

I've been tracking this issue and I'm trying to find out if there are other clear ways to distinquish the difference between a H7 and RH motors OTHER than the length of end bell motor shafts. Evidently its possible to press the shaft through to make an RH look a like, but not quite.

"Tore argues with someone about cut shafts!"
Great run by Mill. Almost perfect. Tore's 2nd best car is not too shabby. Thanks as always Bryan for the excellent race report.

Thanks for the great race report, Bryan. Especially love the pics of the cars and chassis. It helps me figure out things when I go to build, and to see whats working on other tracks.
Biggest thing is I get to see the names of a lot of famous racers and builders from the left coast. Tore just keeps going and going...

John,
Thanks!! Sorry you and the other East Coast guys can't make it this year......everyone moves up a couple places and we'll send some good weather back with Howie!
Tore and Duran will be tough in Can Am but the list of possible contenders is long indeed and the Cheerio contingent keeps getting better and better and Haruki finished a GREAT 2nd in the last Summer Western Classic. Maybe 10-15 guys have a legitimate shot with a little luck and a decent motor. So, with about a week to go, to anyone coming from out of town, have a safe trip and see you soon!!
Here is a pic of the Parma Checkpoint Cup poster whipped up by Nesta Szabo and his girlfriend Kathy. Super job and THANKS!!
........and a Happy New Year to everyone!!

BPR Rocks!
A printed copy of the poster, signed by all the racers would be a fantastic prize for the winner of the B Main?
Heck, I want one to frame for our private track!
