That looks like one of the early '60s Airfix kits?
I've used one to make a resin model, but it's a bit more predictable than yours 
The graphics were tricky and the wheel inserts took some doing too, but I love the shape of the model.

Herbie looks good I think your right about it being a Airfix kits . I Did a little more to mine by adding the driver and other small details
