Great race with my friend, Duran, and a Big Thanks, to Bryan, for all the race reports, all the volunteers that help out like Nesta, Marc Franco, Eddie, Chris, and thanks to all the race directors that donate their time to make sure the program runs smoothly...

Thanks to Terry and Tim at the tech table, and to all the out-of-town racers that come to make this event special...

Hope everyone had a great time, and will join us this Saturday on the King track for our usual monthly King track race...

Remember, up next, the big Pete Zimmerman Festival of speed will be here in a few months, so start getting ready...

First, thanks to all the racers who used a DR Racing Products controller at the Parma Checkpoint race. I will try to be at the big races to support them.

Second, it was nice to see  Earl McCutcheon building more realistic cars, good job, Earl. What is the difference between the illegal BRM and the legal Matra? The Matra looks it has been squashed, the BRM has a more "normal" body.

Again, the people who put the Parma Checkpoint race on did a good job from the audience view. It was fun to watch. Next time there may be streaming video if I can find a way to do it and Debby agrees.

Anyone notice the gap on the rear hinges of Tebu's car? Definitely has some rear steer.

Looks like the same gap on my chassis... Don't see much difference...

I see the gap, just not sure if there is rear stear given the tuning fork arrrangement. With the hinge chassis I have built keeping rear steer out ot them is a problem as the tubing stops seem to wear right away and allow float back into the hinge. I am not real happy with any of them I have built yet.

Nelson, I have been racing with the tuning fork F1 for the last year, with many wins on our King track... Seems to me the car is very planted and handles well with Wonder rubber... I am not sure about the rear steer, but all I know is that it seems to work well...

Interesting to note that five racers in the F1 A Main had faster 'best lap' times than Duran. It just underscores Duran's amazing consistency during any given race.

TIm,

I noted that same situation in an earlier post somewhere in this coverage. And I just love seeing that occur.

It's my opinion that most racers don't acknowledge the overwhelmingly negative effects of deslotting. Going fast is important but IMO not as important as staying in the slot.

I've raced against Duran many times in the past and it's clear he "gets it". He's a great racer and a great guy to boot. As is his dad, Henry.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

I agree with you Greg about Duran (humble guy) and deslotting. It takes a lot of self control not to accelerate beyond what you are capable of when someone is racing side by side with you, but that's exactly what gets you into trouble and you often fall off.
