Saturday, April 18
9 AM - Retro Hawk Boxstock, entry $10
27 Lite, entry $20
OMO, entry $30

All classes will ran under spray glue conditions. Yes, Retro Hawk motors will be closely inspected at the tech table to ensure fair racing.

We are continuing to keep the tradition of the Western States going. It is the longest running race in the United States to date.

No tampering with the Retro Hawk motors at all. No cutting of the rear/non-gear side of arm shaft.

Tim
I'm sure Joe has an old car you could hack up and put a motor in lol. The last winner was an old Boxstock race car from the 90's that the Monkey brought out of retirement.

New stuff?
Chassis: Koford M530D or M530J (the d is the boxstock chassis with the front weight, the j is the same but no front weight) both part numbers are kit version.
Body: O/S non rib viper or red fox .005 foxtail
Air control: could go any combo of .004 or .005 side dams and spoiler (call bill Taylor at hispeed he will paint and kit the bodies for you) also he is in contact with Sam about what other body combos work
Gears: ask Sam Rackham lol
Tires: again ask Sam lol

This is just my opinion :)

We haven't done tech too often at the monthly races.

Other than .500 hub, is there a min tire diameter?

What about rear clearance?

Body survey says:

Serpant with or without rib. Sorry .007 only

\

Vipor, I have CSC style not OS in .005 with or without rib

Red Fox Shadow has also shown good, it's a Vipor backpour

I am going to be testing Camen Supro's on thursday

I am masking all of the above now and painting tommorrow, winging wed nite.

Some will be 5x4 and some 4x4 air control

Also doing a few JK BMW's and RF Audi's

Debbie is sending me some Ti22's. Not sure which.

I am going to the track on thursday so if you want something, let me know and I will add it to Debbies order

Hi Bill,

Yes that was me.  Been all over the spectrum with hobby and other interests lately but that's me.

I'll try to get a snapshot of the body tree at The Race Place...tons of Hi-Speed Products bodies on there...and they disappear as fast as they come in! :)

The Retro Hawk wing car class had thirteen racers, the 27L class had four racers, and the OMO class had five racers at the 2015 Western States Wing Car race. I really wish that there were more racers, but I also want to thank the turn marshals for the 27L and OMO race. I would like to have another wing car race before the end of the year.

I have this Jason from the Hawk Wing Car race. A fun race, and a great day for Max Bowers, who got his first slot race win!!

Great job, Max, Chuck, and James. Wasn't black lane fun???... LOL.

Thanks to Bill Taylor for making a great ready to race body.

HUGE thanks to Don Campbell for breaking in motors for me in his multi-motor hydro tank, dyno testing them, and then giving me the best prediction from my motor pile, it was a winner!

However I get a creepy feeling that Don also uses that tank as an ultrasonic foot bath while breaking in motors
