It was good to have Muffin back in the fold for our monthly races. He tells me he hopes to be able to attend more in the future, but the poor guy is a bit busy these days and we recognize that it can be tough to make the trip sometimes. Nonetheless, we hope James can return often.
David finally decided to show up for the first time in several months, too. It was good to have him, along with his pit crewmistress Karen, at trackside again.
First race featured flexis, Retro Hawks, and Car of Tomorrow bodies. As always, the racing was fast. In the end, James had too much car for the field, and he walked away with top honors.
Your winners: Richard Sylvester (2nd Place), James Merriman (1st Place) and Chris Barnes (3rd Place)
The second race featured retro Can-Ams using Pro-Slot FK motors. Again, extremely fast laps on the Grandstand -- the kind of racing where you feel relieved once the heat is over so you can breathe again. Check out the times:
David shot some pics of the Can-Am winners, including yours truly - who always improves the quality of any pincture in which he's included. Maybe he'll post one or two for us soon.
Unfortunately, I had to leave early to take my lovely bride and daughter to a performance of the local symphony orchestra, so I missed the Retro F1 race. Making it even worse is the fact that I just built that new Toronto F1 and I'm dying to give it a try in a race. Maybe in March...
That's it for now. If you're ever in our neck of the woods the first Saturday of the month, come by Slots of Fun in Abbeville. Great track, great racing, great stock of racing supplies on the walls, and one heck of a friendly bunch of guys to race with.
Until then, good racing!
