Darryl Vance aka Big Durl has created a terrific two-color poster for the Retro Revival Reunion Race and it is shown below. Please right-click on the poster image and save it to your desktop, then print it out, and post it on every telephone pole in your area (or perhaps just in your local raceway).

It is worth mentioning that the poster is 8" x 12.36", so it can't be printed out on a letter-size printer without being resized.

(In case anyone thinks Durl is some NorCal slot car wacko who just makes nice paper slot car interiors, please be advised that he is a well-known art director who is also a terrific artist in many mediums, though I believe he primarily works in film. The IRRA is very lucky to have someone of Durl's talent and accomplishments involved in the promotion of the "R4".)

Now, Noose, don't go getting your feeling hurt. Nobody paints slot car bodies better'n you.

You can do an R4 poster, too... :P

Guys,

Durl emailed me to say he going to resize the poster later today so you can print it out on a standard letter-size printer. I'll post the file as soon as he sends it to me.

It seems the original image I posted was not really meant for folks to print out...

Very nice...

Would be nice to have as a 'souvenier'? Get everyone to sign them in Columbus...

Here's the resized poster that I mentioned in my last post in this thread, as a PDF instead of a JPEG.

Durl says this file should print easily on the sort of printers most of us have at home.

Don't make the same mistake I did. :shok: Instead of printing it out on regular 20 pound paper I printed it on 110 pound paper. Now I can't pick it up. :D :laugh2:

Great job, Durl. :good:

Butch,

Didn't that 110 pound paper break your printer desk first?

Durl,

Excellent job!!! :clapping:

Now, as Larry M. suggested, kind of, do a poster-sized RRRR poster have all the attendees sign it, maybe auction it, and donate the proceeds to a local charity? Just an idea.

Be good,

Keith VanAtta

Great idea, Keith!!! The IRRA really should get involved in charity work ASAP.

I've said for years that slot racing ought to tie-in with charities for the benefit of both parties.

Good job expanding on my idea, Keith... LOL.

Cheater... Why not get a bunch of them printed and sell them to participants?

An event T-shirt would be popular as well.

Profits could go to charity.

Thanks, guys, for all your kind words about the poster.

I hope its a huuuuge event and successful for everyone involved.

The idea of helping out charities is a very good one. Might I recommend battered women's shelters? Now the cynical amongst you might think that I'm only suggesting this as a way to get our wives/girlfriends to actually encourage us to do what we already love. Maybe it is. On the other hand the image of a bunch of guys doing something positive to directly help women and kids couldn't hurt.

Sadly, abused women and familes are everywhere and can always use help.

If slot racers became synonomous with helping women's shelters the way Lions Clubs are with eyeglasses and Shriners with childrens hospitals, it would be a cool thing.
