February's D3 Hardbody races at Buena Park Raceway had a decent turnout considering it was Valentine's weekend.

We welcomed another new racer to D3 Hardbody Racing, Larry Wood. Larry raced hardbodies in the past along with drag racing and flexi slot car racing and just recently decided to try hardbody racing again with our group.

The race schedule consisted of the following: Mixed race, Combined race, 80-Present NASCAR race. These 3 races had a full field each (and then some) with some very close and fun racing.

The latest new D3 Hardbody racing class, GTP/Group C saw some new cars raced for the first time. These cars have been appearing recently at our monthly races in preparation for the D3 4 hour hardbody GTP Enduro at BPR on June 28th. Eight enduro teams have already been decided and will compete in this enduro in a few months. It will be a lot of fun and the racing is expected to be quick and fun.

A brief drivers meeting was held before the NASCAR race to discuss a "possible" race schedule change in the near future. A quick informal vote was taken to see if there's enough racers interested in racing hardbodies twice a month (rather than our current one race day per month). The response was good, but we need to increase the number of regular hardbody racers each month to insure we have enough racers for a full field and turn marshalls for twice a month racing. The idea is to have two Sundays a month for hardbody racing (most likely the first and third Sundays of each month). Each race day would consist of two races, a mixed race and a feature race (NASCARs or perhaps GTPs). Larry Wood (our newest D3 hardbody racer) suggested perhaps racing on the "5th" Sunday months as the extra race day. That's a good suggestion and we might try it first in lieu of going to twice monthly racing. There's 4 months this year with a 5th Sunday (March 29th, May 31st, August 30th, November 29th).

But, we will not make a decision yet about changing our monthly race schedule. We'll discuss this topic again at our March race (March 15th) to get more feedback on this topic.

Thanks to Jim and Debby Watterson for their support of D3 hardbody racing at Buena Park Raceway.

Thanks to our race directors: Victor Dubrowsky and Larry Wood. Larry did a nice job of race directing as well as competing in his first ever D3 hardbody race.

The next D3 hardbody races on Sunday, March 15th. First race (mixed race) starts at noon sharp.  Join in the fun, we have competitive loaner cars available for those interested in trying hardbody racing.

Thanks John. It was also the first time I had three cars I built finish on the podium in the same race. As you well know, there's quite a satisfaction when you build a car that handles well.
