Hi Guys
Local news KSDK-TV wanted to do a tie-in with the Daytona 500. He came by the local home track for the Sun night club...

ST. LOUIS - Slot car racing may be on a small scale, but racing the miniature cars is a big deal in St. Louis.

There are a number of clubs in the area, and there are also several tracks and many of them are located in the basement. But the cars are not like the ones we grew up with.

These cars travel upwards of 20 miles an hour in actual speed. If you translate to scale they are moving at about 300 miles an hour. The racing is very competitive with leagues and standings.

Carl Schorle is with the Gateway Slot Racing Association and the Monoco Grand Prix Miniature Racing Club. He showed NewsChannel 5's Rene Knott what all the excitement is about.
