Any Thursday night BPR flexi racers out there?  I'm looking for setup advice for next Thursday.  I called the store, Jim said JK Flexi w LMP body on the flat track w/ sealed can motors like evil9, H7, RH, Demon, etc...I can't take all my slot stuff - plan is to pack 2 cars built as best I can, and a controller - I may need to borrow simple tools for tires and gears.

I think I should build: JK C11, Hawk 7, .720 setup, Gears?  Tires?  Braid depth?

Please Advise...

I think the C11 is the two piece, most run the three piece.

pp or ppt for tires

I also use a Hawk 7 with 12:42 for gears, a few are using 12:43

Don't sweat the paint job (driver, numbers...), not strictly enforced, just get paint on it and race.

Ask around for tools, plenty of loaners and help if needed.

We try to start racing by 7pm

See you there!

C11 is 3 piece. C21, X24 and X25 are 2 piece

I hope I can ride smooth on that flat track - yes, I'm coming to Rock BPR next Thursday for some flexi fun!  Good thing I cut my teeth on a vintage flat track road course with an omni.  Flat track for the flexis next Thursday, right?

Grabbed a new chassis and H7 from The Raceway tonight, my others are not very happy right now.  Thursday I'll be testing some motors at P-1 Raceway, Marcus says he has a few fast ones and a nifty 3rd eye that is gonna become mine.  Any minimum weight?  other rules I need to pay attention to?

C-11 3 piece .025-.025 / evil or H7 / JK Audi .007 body / .720 jk tires / 12:42 78-pitch (new to me but i trust you guys) / .025 braid depth nice!

Thanks for the advice!  Can't wait to meet everyone!

Ah, it's the C21 I had in mind... C11 is the 3 piece, what you want.

No real tech inspection and never did have a minimum weight.

Rule 26, subsection 2c...

Newcomers buy regulars dinner at Imperial Burger

Other than that you should be good to go.

I think those 12:42 gears mentioned are 72 pitch. I don't think 78 pitch slot car gears exist.

I would recommend using the .030 middle.
Test, test, test and go test some more.

DZ - Can you read minds?  Hopefully Marcus has one .030, Bill P was out of stock yesterday :)

My GTP saturday was a .030 center, and I still wasted it LOL.

If you want to shed some weight ditch the front axel and wheels, we don't require them. A sticker on the body or even sharpie drawn on wheels are good to go. See you there!

And, get a open cockpit body such as the Mercedes. Just my 2 cents.

DZ was right on - the .030" center is the car for the race. Thanks, Max, Larry, and Chuck for helping out.

What time do I report at Imperial Burgers to make good on Rule 26, 2C?

BPR Rocks!

Last week 298 laps won the B...everyone stepped up their game with the Florida guy visiting.  I took off in the first heat and grabbed 40 laps on yellow.  Then to white and sit out 2 heats.  at the end of the 7th during a comeback I hit the wall pretty good and ran to fix my chassis during the break like Terry Tawney taught me.  I ran back with 10 seconds to go, slapped my car down and when I grabbed the controller, darn lane card was still sitting there...there went my podium chance.  tie for 3rd at 311, I got 5th with 309...close racing - I had more fun than anyone except maybe Rabbit who had the best smack talk.  For a newbie from Florida, I sure liked that flat track and got a handle on it pretty quickly!

It was great to experience BPR! - met Rabbit and Bill V, some of DZ's Kelly teammates.  Max, Larry, Monkey...Mike Kravitz...too many to list.  Vic and Sam are fast!  Thanks to all...

Way to go Charlie!  Great showing.  And fourth fastest lap -- cool.

BTW, last night in the GT1 race I churned out 233 laps which is within one lap of matching your best of 234.  I was using GetSome for the first time -- maybe THAT was the reason I ran better.

Anyway, you'd better get back here and raise the bar pretty soon or I'm gonna be giving YOU a target to shoot at.

Charlie,

At the Daytona (Holly Hill) raceway I wouldn't make the A main even if I had one of DZ's cars -- I'm just not comfortable yet on that challenging road course.  But I hope you can do it.

As far as what you picked up from Rabbit and will learn from DZ, maybe just throw me a bone or two so I can up my game a little.

Charlie, which of the BPR racers uses the nickname Rabbit? Is he on Slotblog? I've not heard this mentioned before, but he seems like a character. :)

Hey Bill, Rabbit is Tim Hould. He is a character for sure. We have had a lot of fun racing together in, GA.

I remember one year Rabbit was racing against our buddy, Jack A$$. The race director said, "never thought I would say this, but a rabbit is chasing a JackA$$ for 1st place". Ha-ha.
Test, test, test and go test some more.
