Pactra did it again!

I was lucky to find this beautiful Pactra Ferrari 365P2:
Pactras are definetly my favourite vintage RTR cars as the chassis (in his numerous versions) is so well made and it preludes to the scratchbuilt jaildoor kind of 66 and 67.
The seller was very nice because many weeks later he found the instructions sheet and sent it to me.
Watch this space for my entire Pactra collection to be cleaned and restored soon.
Kind regards
Edo

I have a Porsche 908 RTR that I got as a kid (my first car I already talked about in another thread) and the front wheel openings have the same "dark'ning". Weird or normal? Mostly I see it only on silver cars!

it apparently was some gas that the rubber was letting off in time. I do have a few that are like that, namely a orange Classic Stinger and Classic models in general.
Pity eh?!

you mean like this Nart by Tom Andersen?:
The silver one looks like is a factory paint. Is that the way Drogo was making them?

The darkening of wheel wells due to a form of electrolytic discharge is unfortunately as common on old slot cars as the packing foam disintegration that ruined so many Cox, Mura and other parts and motors. It also affects injected bodies.

Tom Andersens body paint is very good. But he has used the numbers 18 from the 1966 Lemans when 0838 ran with no tail fins. The Pactra body is the 1967 Lemans NART No 26 entered White Elephant. It had a spoiler across both wings Like the 917 langheck.
And to repeat myself the fins were Blue with little White Elephants painted on them.

actually for once in his life the Evil Dokk is right: we did have Hannibal crossing the Alps with elephants. That was around the time Dokk was born.

I have a ready to run Pactra Ferrari Dino but at least that was painted red.
I have a AHC catalogue from 1966 and metallic painted bodies are much more expensive compare with solid paint.

Here the Champion Ferrari and the Pactra side by side (have you noticed the difference?)
And here the 2, unfortunately, shelf queens together:
I am dying to get them rolling on my track but the Evil Fierce Dokk will not talk to me anymore if I ever do that! Talking about freedom!
Kind regards

Sorry to be such an Anorak but I said in another forum that Number 18 is the car as it raced in 1966 Le mans entered by NART with no tail fins.
The Pactra body is the 1967 car known as the White Elephant again entered by NART. The tail fins were painted blue with a White Elephant logo. It was numbered I think on blue roundels 26. Indeed as the Dok would agree it was a White Elephant as it succumb to the famous Sandbank. If you see the original copy of the Ford that Beat Ferrari you can see the car's final resting place in the picture behind the winning Ford MKIV.
Since Tom has done such a neat job on the body. Go and find another one for the White Elephant version.
