Rather than adopt a pay per ad scheme, the system we're going to try is payment by honor system.
For items selling for more than $25, Slotblog is asking for a 5% ad fee. Thus if an item advertised here sells for $100, we're asking the seller to remit $5 to Slotblog after the sale has been finalized. For an item selling for $50, it would be a $2.50 fee. And so on. Sellers are welcome to remit once for multiple sales for convenience, rather than making a separate payment for each item.
The PayPal address for remitting ad fees is: greg@slotblog.net
The ad fee requested is a significantly smaller percentage of the sale price compared to the fees assessed by that popular auction site.
Thanks in advance for your understanding of why this Racer Swap Shop policy change has become necessary.

Good idea. Is there a place specifically set up in which to make these payments?

That seems really fair to me. I will oblige and make my payments as needed.
Thank you for letting us post our wares on here.

Just sent my little payment in for a six-year old ad. Someone finally wanted it so fair is fair.
Enjoy being able to read Slotblog even if I can't race any more. It is well worth the little it costs.

As stated in the initial post to this thread:
For items selling for more than $25, Slotblog is asking for a 5% ad fee. The ad fee requested is a significantly smaller percentage of the sale price compared to the fees assessed by that popular auction site. No fee is due on items that do not sell or which sell due to ads placed elsewhere.
Is Slotblog going to scrutinize every ad placed in Racer Swap Shop and dun every seller who doesn't remit? No, but if it becomes clear that there is "no honor among slot racers," a pay per ad format will probably eventually be adopted.
This "reminder" will continue to appear on an irregular basis, simply because a minority of sellers are not honoring this reasonable request.

Or you can just PayPal to greg@slotblog.net. It's actually the same process either way.

By and large, Brian, they do, with a very few approved exceptions. Commercials vendors who are not Slotblog banner advertisers have to pay upfront for ads in The Parts Counter to have them made visible.
The division between those two forums (Racer Swap Shop and The Parts Counter) is admittedly artificial, but the critical element is whether the item being sold in being produced in series and/or available in quantity.

Been a lot of activity in Racer Swap Shop the last few days and I just felt it was time to bump this thread for those few who may have not have seen it.
Please review post #1 in this thread if it is new to you.
Thanks to all the honorable Slotbloggers who remit the requested 5% ad fee when it applies.

Much less of a vig than eBay and Greg doesn't take a cut of the shipping like ePay does.

Just tried two ways to pay commission for the Serpent I just sold on Slotblog... and failed both times. I clicked on the donate button but it only comes up as a monthly... hmm... no good... just want to do a one-off payment... or do I just un-click the monthly function once payment has been made?
I then went to my PayPal account and it wont pay the greg@slotblog.net. PaPpal wants an email address, not a .net.
Appreciate your advice.
Regards,
Kim

Let me know if you are still having a problem submitting the RSS commission.
Just to clear up your donation concern, the recurring donation is an option and would only happen if you checked the box on that line. FWIW that option is part of the PayPal template, not something I added.
