Sports Cars are the latest addition to the Electron Raceway lineup. Again, the Scholer and/or Plafit chassis are specified. The class uses the Deathstar or ProSlot 2002 Speed FX balanced sealed 16D motor. We are also experimenting with the ProSlot 2002 FK sealed motor. Again, the KISS principle is employed. Many sports car bodies fit right on the Trans-Am chassis with no modification. Therefore, only a body swap is required to move from one class to another. The Ferrari Modena, Ford GT and Ferrari 458 seem to be good choices. Many other bodies have been used with a modicum of success. I like the Ferrari 458 because of its huge wheel openings that allow for the widest track possible. The Ford GT has a fairly narrow front track. The Modenas rear wheel openings are not quite large enough for the ProTrack tires so these must be tucked under the body work.
Below are images of a typical Sports Car chassis and the many builds - some more successful than others - some never raced.
