Fellas,

 

 Due to vacation on the part of The Race Place, the June edition of the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club will be held on the SECOND THURSDAY OF JUNE on......JUNE 11, 2015 at the TALCO Building on Rt 33. Farmingdale New Jersey at 7:30 PM.

 

 On a bit of a sad note, the COLLINGWOOD Auction RACE PLACE site has after many years of operation and a near miracle rise from the ashes, has CLOSED IT'S DOORS !!!

Many will certain recall John and Shirley Fary and the decades of fun the Collingwood auction RACE PLACE provided. And certainly rising to the occasion the HERBERT Family, Jerry and Jackie as well as Jessica and Jerry Jr. took up where the Fary's left off and continued the tradition of a fun, friendly family run slot car business.

 The fun will continue at the above mentioned TALCO Building for what we hope will be even more memorable stint that the auction site...

Was that the track at the flee market on 33?

At the circle where Rt. 33 and 34 come together.

 

That is sad ... and it really did rise from the ashes.

Pete - Are the tracks going to TALCO ?

Bob,

 

 I'm not sure, if I find out I'll let everyone know. The oval track was a blast to drive. Although I never raced on it I'd go to the auction on rare occasions and run the heck out of my oval track cars, push them as much as I dared !

 

 The snaky track was also a fun drive, especially 1/32 stuff. Once you got the lane cleaned up it was great!

I never went to a auction there but I did go to the flee market a bunch of times.

Will they still have the flee market?

Joe,

 

 Actually, it's the same site. There is an auction house on the flea market grounds, the entire facility is know as the "Collingwood Auction".

Bummer. My son and I were there last month for the first time in a while... I hope that yellow track finds a new home.
