I don't think anyone's run any laps where we can really tell. Whenever Mike and I have been there with our Slot.its, the track has been lightly glued up for either Retro or Hardbody races, and we couldn't even make it around. We're all going into the big unknown on this one!

Interesting, I run my cars on a lightly spray glued track but I use sponge and you guys use rubber. What's happening with the car?

I wasn't able to give my car enough time on the track. The front was popping out of the slot, and I had to get ready for some Hardbody Retro racing. Mike was able to run more laps, but I wasn't there to see it.

Are you thinking of coming down for the race? Sounds like you would do well! PLENTY of time to plan on it!  :laugh2:

I won't be in the area until September at the earliest. First of all your urethane tires are not going to mess up the track anymore than any other tires. If your car is popping out of the a lot that does sound like not enough weight. My cars weigh in at 110-120 grams. I also use with Professir or Scaleauto deep guides.

I would like to race with you guys but would have to modify my cars as they all have bracing, suspension, sponge tires and more powerful motors. I will build a pair of Jaguars probably and/or Lancias. Interesting choice of sidewinder pods, never found them to work that well.

On your last post, take a look at Scaleauto gears, they have a wide variety of sizes.

running this for mod:

cmrca17b_962_52.jpg

running this in stock:

csrCA28b_Nissan_R89C_06.jpg

With a dirty and glued track... weight seems to be the answer. I have got the car at 80+ grams and it is a lot more manageable.

More weight will be better, but you have to balance that to the straight line speed you will be losing, drivability and the clock will dictate the amount of lead needed.

For the race, the track will be cleaned, but there may be a slight amount of glue residue, but the grip will be consistent thru out the entire track and not spotty as with sprayed glue conditions.

I have tested with JK treated sponge tires (narrowed to fit under the body) and that runs really good on a sprayed glued track.

For this initial forray in running these cars, I have specified a spec tire. As with more interest in this type of racing, the rules will be open up, at lease in the mod class, for tires and modifications.

If you can attend some of the festivities (racing) that would be great.

Looks like I can attend the races in September and October assuming these are both on wood tracks. Not really interested in running Group C on plastic. I'll probably just run this in the modified class if I can fit a sidewinder pod under the body. I won't be adding an extra wing to the back however. That's just wrong. LOL

It will be interesting to see how my anglewinder Porsche GT1 with sponge tires runs on the flat track at BPR. It currently weighs a stout 129 gr. Has never run faster.

Tim: Mod class uses SIDEwinder pod, not anglewinder. Electric dreams has them with gears in a kit. Otherwise eBay.
Max: the Slot.it races are Sunday.

Tim, I got the stink on the pod allowed.  Side winder only for the mod class.

If you need one call slot car Tony @ Fantasy World and he may be able to get you one out in time.

Their number is (877) 318-7144

It is strange not to allow anglewinder but it makes sense if you want to standardize on the orange endbell motor. Please don't change the rule as I am working on a sidewinder and wanted to try that instead of all of the angleswinders I normally run! Are the tracks scheduled for September and October wood? Inquiring minds would like to know.
