The 2nd Annual D3 Hardbody Enduro, June 28, 2015, for GTP/Group C cars was faster than last year's NASCAR enduro. Along with the faster pace, more problems occurred during the race.

More motor changes, tire wear and car damage (compared to last year's NASCAR enduro) created more drama but the fun factor was dominant again.

Eight 3 man teams battled thruout the enduro with a lot of close racing as teams exchanged the lead as problems occurred. Last year's NASCAR enduro only saw one team/driver (Paul Sterrett) reach the 100 lap mark during a heat. This year, 100 laps or more for a heat was accomplished by every team. The winning team "averaged" over 101 laps per heat for the entire race! Team Sloth and Cabin Fever both set the heat high mark with 110 laps (Sloth on black lane, Cabin Fever on purple).

Thanks to Jim and Debby Watterson for supporting D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.

Thanks to our race directors: Victor Dubrowsky, Jim Watterson, Tim Neja, Keith Tanaka

Here's the complete race/photo report:  http://socald3.phanfare.com/2015/

The next monthly D3 hardbody races on Sunday, July 19th. Track opens at 10 am, mixed race starts at noon followed by the NASCAR race, then the GTP race.

Thanks for the great report and all the great pictures, Keith.  I love the way the cars look and it must be a hoot driving them on a flat track like that. I always wanted to get a hardbody class going at my local when it was up and running but could never generate enough interest in the other racers.  Great job guys.

It was a LOT OF FUN!!! Congrats Keith and BPR for a very successful race!! There was plenty of drama in this one as 6 teams experienced problems with tires/ motor changes!! It shuffled the deck for the winners!! The winning and 2nd place team had NO major problems and that's why they came out on top!! We led early in the race--but had a chassis break and a motor change and that dropped us out of contention!  But it was GREAT FUN!! Let's do it again!!

First of all a big thank you to Keith for putting this event together. I agree with Tim, it was a LOT OF FUN. There were tire changes, motor changes, and various other repairs which affected the results, and that's endurance racing. It was a good group of guys and definitely a lot of fun. I'm ready for next years race.

Yep, that was how racing should be! A lot of fun and competition. The drama was in the competition, not in the personalities. Our Team Sloth was lucky to not have had any major problems, but even luckier that the race ended when it did! Our motor started slowing down in the 3rd to last heat, and was not doing too well at the end. Looking forward to more hardbody racing!
