For the final race weekend before the upcoming Summer Western Classic, the SCRRA has decided to do something a little different as far as a warmup race  As several racers have lobbied in favor of keeping a Flat track race we will run a race on EACH track.  All the normal time schedules with tech at 10AM and the first race will be Can Am... WITH.... Retro Coupes (Anglewinders) on the Flat track.  Both running together...... Why not as the Coupes will be running at the SWC!   Just ONE race and I'll get a few pics to keep things separate.

Lunch as usual followed by Can Am on the King track.  I spoke with Debbi about this and BPR has no problem with running a monthly race on both tracks. See you there!  :good:

   Jason and Max,

Both correct. No F1 and the race will be on the normally scheduled SCRRA 2nd Saturday, July 11th.

The first race will be on the Flat track with normal tech time of 10AM and will be Can Am AND Retro anglewinder Coupes running together in the same race.

The last race will be Can Am on the King track with everything as usual following our monthly very casual procedures. Just something different! :)

Hopefully I can make the 11th for some racing. Duran did a great job on tuning up my Coupe; very smooth and with new motor, pretty quick. Mill ran a 4.52 on yellow, I ran a 4.54 on yellow with the "Fiddler" coupe. If my nerves allow me, perhaps I'll do Ok at the SWC.

I’ve never raced in the Coupe class but I’m curious to test the waters.  At this time I’m not inclined to build or buy a chassis.  If you have a Coupe that you would be interested in having me race at BP on July 11 please drop me a private message.  I will certainly pass along any knowledge gained from testing and turning your car.

At BPR today, in the last SCRRA race before the SWC, the first event was Can Am AND Coupes on the Flat track. Coupe Anglewinders in the hands of Rick Linn and Jim Fowler came in 2nd and 3rd. The winner however was an INLINE Can Am in the hands of................Duran Trujillo!

On the King track, Rick Linn motored his new DCR car around flawlessly with a lap total of 352 which tied Duran and Ben Cervantes Jr as the record!  Don Campbell was a close 2nd and Bryan Warmack a distant 3rd.  Great run Rick!

If anyone is wondering what Don's reaction to his close 2nd was....................

Great Race Don!  :good:     More to follow in the race report.......

Pretty surprised an Inline won the flat track race. Not surprised it was Duran who did it. :good:

Neat video's Tim. You even got us expert turn marshall's in there. Got the motors switched out in the Can-Am's. I'll get your rides back when you return.

At this  point, Duran gradually pulling away in the race with the real competion between the 2 through 5 spots with Rick Linn, Jim Fowler, Alex and Gary.  Unfortunately the camera battery died after this heat so I couldn't shoot the end of the race.
