We started a new weekly racing series here at The Race Place on Tuesday nights. At the moment we are running a FCR Indy class, and with more racers we will evolve into running at least two classes of cars a week ranging from Retro Can-Am to JK Indy.

 

Here are the results from week one.

 

6/30/15 FCR Indy Cars

 

Jim Smith - 264 laps, 2.528 sec fast lap

Ben Harley - 261, 2.626

Captain Bob - 253, 2.645

Chris Ippy - 219, 2.796

Greg Walker - 165, 2.565

 

Tonight we will have another race and I will add those results on Thursday.

This Saturday we will be closed and at the swap-meet. We will be open the following Saturday at our normal hours 10:30 AM-2 PM.

It's in Daytona. It has slot cars and model cars, and sometimes other weird things.

Does the raceway ever have any racing on Saturday?  Kind of hard to make it down during the week, but will probably start driving down on Saturday's that I'm off to run my retro cars.

That's half my problem. I'm off this Saturday, but the track is closed. Next Saturday I work and the Saturday after that is the race.

That Jim Smith can sure turn some fast laps.  If DZ didn't get smashed out his car was fastest.  This FCR S16D class makes for some heavy hitting...the marshall at the end of the big bank carries a pair of pliers to help those who 'get it'...checking your car between heats is a real treat.  

 

Race Place is looking to run some flexis - I think I heard Thursdays.  Jacksonville racers should like hearing this.
