When new racers fall off in the Donut for the first time, do they put the car back on in the wrong direction?

I'd say at least 50% of my new customers do.

And 50% of them do it a second time. LOL

And the "aid" I added a few months back hasn't seemed to help at all.

Just curious if it's everywhere, or just a Chicago phenomenon.

Some folks do the car on backwards on the donut thing here too. Maybe they learned "cars go to the right" at the drivers panel.

Makes sense.

Maybe if they were standing inside the donut, they would get it correct.

I thought it was because they were aiming the car back towards where they stood, at the drivers panel, in the most direct line.

I thought it was for us Old Farts .... having a senior moment !!!!!

You could paint the arrows on the track ..... like they do  on the highway ....... :dash2:

I do that all the time, usually about 3 in the morning. Or forget to take the car off to impound before a sitout :dash2:

If you are truly skilled like me, your car will rider and launch full bore right into you as you marshal the donut :D

Bad Habits Learned Early.

Don't y'all teach the lesser experienced drivers to return their car to their lane on a straight away, and not in a turn? Basic slot car etiquette.

Not if they are the only person on the track.

If more than one, I keep new racers a lane apart so they can't nerf each other.

Once there is adjacent racers, they get told to put it on a straight section.

Regardless, excited 7 year olds, and even adults, don't always remember.

Drifting the topic a little I know but, has anyone raced on a king in the reverse direction?

I would think it would be much less likely to be a punched track.

I ran many races backwards on the King. Eurosport being one class. But what was surprising was in Group 10, after a couple of heats they were running times about the same as correct way.............

I would imagine running backwards is just as weird for the turn marshals.
