Wasn't blue lane the one used for qualifying "back in the day"?

Two super-close races on the Flat track yesterday to open Friday's events at the Summer Western Classic. Both decided by about a lap. In Anglewinder Coupe Rick Linn just edged Bryan Warmack in secnd who narrowly edged Mill Conroy in third. Great run to fourth place by 1960s Team Checkpoint racer Charlie Nelson!

In F1 Gary Donahoe prevailed with a flawless drive to best Bryan Warmack again in second with Jerry Johnson running an excellent third.

RetroPro on the King track had Duran Trujillo as the winner over a rusty but determined Tore Anderson. Great run, Tore! John Hegedus was a well-deserved third with another steady drive!

Saturday's Can-Am race on the King track was a real barnburner as the top three move-ups in the B Main just continued their little quest and became the TOP three in the A Main! Great race with winner Alex Freund just nipping Duran Trujillo and Rick Linn a close third. Super drive also by Tim Neja who also came out of the B Main to run a solid fifth! TJ Albu was TQ at 3.893... with a Falcon 7!

F1 on the King track tomorrow...  :good:

Wasn't blue lane the one used for qualifying "back in the day"?

I can remember doing it at Phaze III in the early '70s on the Hillclimb.

Very fun weekend, Bryan!!   :clapping:

Thanks to all that helped make it a great race!! BPR for a great facility,  Eddie for all the track prep, Max Bower for help everywhere it's needed, and Mill for CDing lots of races too. Bryan and John you kept everything running smoothly – and congrats to all the racers, fun time!!

Great personal thanks to the Hitec crew who helped me make the  A Main in 4 out of 5 classes!! First time I've ever done that!! Much appreciated and the cars Jim Lange built were ballistic and smooth to drive!! Very fun!

Now to find a way to that elusive podium spot!! :good:  Safe drive home everyone – see you at the next one!!  :victory:
