First and foremost I want to thank every single racer who showed up to support the new Outlaw Scale Series. Without you none of this would have been possible. When I put this deal together I hoped for 15 racers; man, you guys exceeded that and it blows me away! It means more than you can imagine to receive this kind of support and all the messages I have been receiving privately are very thoughtful.

Thank you to Rich and Danny Jr. at SpeedZone PTC for providing us with a top-notch facility to race at. The refurbished King track was amazing, super fast and smooth all weekend long. Great power also.

Thank you to JK Products, Outisight Designs, Kelly Racing, GetSome 1000, and Angry Turtle Slot Car Products. We had over 100 different items donated between these five companies. I know I and everyone else truly enjoyed that!

Thanks to Charlie McCullough also for all of the great pictures you're seeing on Slotblog!

Here is a group photo that was taken just before the 4" NASCAR race started. Overall we had 47 different racers from six different states!

Some of the race prizes and awards for the day were on display as soon as you walked in the door.

While the kids were racing GTP on the King we qualified 4" NASCAR on the fast and tight Spread Hillclimb. This track always produces great racing.
We had 32 entries with James Merriman earning the TQ spot with a 4.322. The top three qualifiers were all within a half of a tenth.

DZ ran a nice pace and kept his nose cleaner than everyone else in the A and picked up the win. James, Biscuit, and I tried putting the pressure on him for eight heats but it wasn't enough, he was just too calm, cool, and collected.

I apologize but I can't seem to find the D main results at the moment... so here's the A, B, and C main results.

Donnie Zorro 201 laps
James Merriman 198
Mile "Biscuit" Bresett 197
Ralph Thorne 196
Bud Greene 191
Stan Hutson 187
Will Brinkley 189
JC Martin 186
Taylor Davis 186
Troy Johnson 184
John Clow 183
Charlie McCullough 180
Russ Martin 179
Russell Dobbs 178
Red Valantine 177
Roy Hogan 175
James Johnson 168
Steve Harrington 166
Marty Ammann 165
Todd Oswalt 164
Casey Riggs 164
Danny Richards 162
Joe McIntosh 157
Clyde Gazaway 147

The 4" NASCAR top five.

Joe McIntosh's concours winning paint job. Beautiful as always. Joe also picked up cash awards of $25 for winning two of the three concours.

The final race of the day would be the wicked fast GTP cars on the King. This race started just shy of midnight so we lost some of our traveling racers, however a large amount of locals showed up just for this class and it turned out to be the biggest one of the day with 34 entries.

It was obvious this was going to be a race of speed and stamina! James was TQ again at 3.605 secs. Luck just wasn't on his side for this one, he had problems and had to drop out early. That left a dogfight between Biscuit, DZ, and myself. We swapped positions several times but in the end it was Biscuit with the win by half of a lap over DZ. He made a hard charge at Biscuit while he was on red in his final heat but came up just a bit short.

I knew those Kelly guys were always looking for those extra grams to trim, but...

Seriously though, great job, Danny.

I would love to be open and available to host one or two of these next season.

That came from a last wreck right as track power went off. If you look close the body is ripped almost off...

Thanks, Ralph. First time on King, too.

To say I was nervous is an understatement, quaking is more like it. I was shaking so bad, Casey had to oil my car. :laugh2: Butterflies gone, next time I'll do better.  :yes3:
