I'd been to The Gear Page (guitars, amps, etc.), Google, which led me to the official Sony Playstation3 site (self explanatory), and then Slotblog. Why do you ask?

Methinks I detect a hint of jealousy in your tone. :D

This one appeared tonight before I logged on:

No! No compaints here!

Out of curiousity, I clicked on one of these ads, and after watching most of the mandatory video, I'm bafffled as to what it is they're promoting. It sure didn't have anything to do with scantily clad young women, dammit!

I actually clicked on it to see what I could find out. It has headlights. It won't function without that funky looking antenna on top, and a six channel radio. It has LED tailights that change color in flight, creating a lightshow if you're brave enough to fly it in the dark. It has a camera that transmits to an included 7" color monitor. It's named "Racer 250". The rest of the verbage didn't make much sense.

My son has been known to fly a Gray Eagle spy drone. Control is done with a trackball & a joystick. It comes with a single engine. Made in California, the price varies between $22-$32M.

It's a FPV racing drone. It's a sport that is growing like crazy. Several big money guys have invested multimillions in it believing it will someday rival football as a national sport.

Mike,

Well, humbuckers will certainly work. I just like that sound, "twang" I guess I get from my Tele's. My latest pop-ups have been either for other guitars or Beretta shotguns. Both are getting a bit pricey, probably go with a Beretta Outlander.

Tom, I've never played a Tele. Bought a MIM Strat a few years back, couldn't stand the noise from the single coils. New pickups fixed that, but I still haven't bonded with the 25.5" scale length.

Mike,

I pretty much have the same Strat, 2007 MiM. Replaced the pup's with Rose "Robusta" pup's. Whole new guitar! Now, about Tele's. You should go to a guitar store and plug one in. A good one. Mine are the FSR model[Fender Special Run], BSB, maple fingerboard, reversed control plate. The other is a vintage '64, re-issue, Torino red, R/W fingerboard. Absolute killer!

I don't mind the 25.5" board, but, might look for something with a shorter board. Gonna get the Beretta first tho.

You really need to try a Tele.

Tom, I've never played a Tele. Bought a MIM Strat a few years back, couldn't stand the noise from the single coils. New pickups fixed that, but I still haven't bonded with the 25.5" scale length.

It was about '69 and I was 14 years old. My first guitar was a 3/4 scale '65 Mustang terribly refinished in florescent psychedelic paint. My dad bought it for me for Christmas for $75, at a large local music store. It was on a rack with about 30 '50s and '60s Strats priced I think $125 or $150. I was afraid to ask for that expensive of a guitar so I picked the Mustang. Later I mentioned it to my dad and he said he would have bought me a Strat had I ask. :dash2:

A couple of years later I found a Strat in the local classifieds for $175 and my dad bought it for me for Christmas. It turned out to be a '56 red custom color. A year or so later I traded it for a late '50s Les Paul Special (double cutaway, 2 P90 pickups) that had been broken at the heal and refinished metal flake red. I ended up breaking it 2 more times before giving up on it and getting a mid '60s 335.

To think I traded a perfectly good '50s Strat for a repaired and refinished Les Paul Special. :dash2:

This was all before there was any market for vintage guitars.

I mention all of that because: Even though I played a 25 1/2" scale Strat in my youth and liked it just fine, once switched to the shorter scale Gibsons I never again was comfortable playing the longer scale Fenders. And it wasn't for lack of trying. I've owned many Fenders over the years but always go back to Gibsons (Les Paul Customs being my favorite).

So I feel your pain, Mike!

Phil,

I've been eyeing a Fender Classic '60's "Jazzmaster" with a 24" fretboard. These look and sound pretty damn nice.

But, that Beretta looms large!

Mike,

Had another guitar add appear from GuitarCenter for Father's Day sales. Ain't biting as I just bought an upland bird SG.

But, seeing the add has provoked me to crack a beer and plug in the Telecaster for a spell. Fooling around with stuff from Fleetwood Mac "Future Games" album/CD. Fun stuff!

Happy Father's Day everyone.

Phttt! Horsepoop. Just have to find the right person I suppose. Mike, ever hear of a band Wishbone Ash? Been doing some of their songs lately. Some good stuff. May have to stick a humbucker into one of my Tele's to get that sound. Naw, I'll just work around it.

Youtube Wishbone Ash IV or Argus. Some pretty good stuff there. A couple of pretty talented guitar players.

Just another reason to try different tunes. I can't believe I'm thinking of dropping a humbucker in one of Tele's!

It's a very high intenisty light you blind the bad guy with....

Really? That dinky little thing? I'm skeptical.

This one appeared this evening. I clicked on it, and found that it's a good example of an answer to a question nobody asked. I hope they make enough money to comfortably retire.

Mike,

Well, you ain't gonna believe it, but, saw another Fender Telecaster ad.Got two, but, this looks like something I NEED[Want?].

Not very good at posting pics, ads. It's on GC #1500000004987. 3 color sunburst, R/W fretboard. Already have my SG's, so, this looks very doable. Ordering tomorrow before the SWC at BPR .Eh! I better control myself with these Fender's! Now, I'll have three Tele's! Mike, you really need to plug one in. A good one. You'll know why I swear by them. It's that sound you can get.

This one popped up just now. I'm tempted, but I'm afraid it's the four notes I already know! :D

One would think that, but it doesn't seem to follow suit with what ads I see. I mean they seem to be really random and typically nothing I'd be looking/searching for.
