I've been looking and waiting for a Strombecker Brawner Hawk for it seems like forever.   They've come up for sale every now and then on Ebay but were always way over my budget.  Well this one came it at just about my limit and I'm very happy to have one to run with the Lotus'.  These cars can be made to run pretty well so I'm looking forward to tuning and detailing it.  I'm hoping that Pattos has decals for it.  I've already checked with Indycals and came up empty.

Tried to find mine before I responded. It's here somewhere, in pieces. Still looking.

Hey Paul,

Please post a pic when you find it.  I've done a little detailing on mine since this picture was posted.  Will have to post a few more pics.  Thought I'd get more of a response considering how hard these are to find...

Eureka!

Found my "Hawk", right where it should have been in the Rubbermaid container marked "Strombecker 1/24th" & ................

it's an Indy Lotus (#1159-11).

Old brain ain't what it used to be & it wasn't much back then.

Would send pics but that's beyond my present computer skill set.

Might have my more competent wife help.

This series is more off scale than usual but what's with the pin head drivers on these cars?

They're about half the size of the Cox bobble head!

Hi Paul,

That's true about the scale.  I don't believe they are 1/24 scale but they certainly seem bigger than 1/32.  I recently finished a resin Indy "Coyote"  and it's looks like 1/43 scale next to the Strombecker cars!

Still fun cars though.  I've sourced some resin replacement parts for the Hawk and a couple of windscreens for the Lotus'.  I'll post pics when done.

Paul

Nice find Paul - hope it didn't break the bank. I'm kind of in your situation: would like one, but don't want to pay the going price... Also, must admit that every time I see one up close, it reminds me of a  whale and I don't seem to want it that much any more...

I do have a couple of the Strombecker Lotii, which are a little less out of scale... it's not so much that they're closer to 1/24, but they've been ballooned out to fit the motor and chassis.

Hi Don,

Nope, this one wasn't that expensive at all.  Less than $75 including shipping.  Not cheap but certainly not the "going price".  Here are few picture's of the Hawk and it's running mates..

Nice Paul!

Were you able to lower the Hawk a bit?

Hi Don,

No.  I did think of lowering it by shaving down the mounting post but I'm afraid to mess it up...
