Top notch! Bet it was a pleasure restoring something so cool. :D

Front axle arrangement looks familiar. :)

I see that car has an Associated Lola SS body on it. I loved those.

We all need to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer.

I see that's a Bruce Paschel car... is he still around Philippe, and did you interview him for the book? (l'Arlésienne....)

"I see that's a Bruce Paschal car... is he still around Philippe, and did you interview him for the book?"

Don, yes, Bruce is still around, now 92 years old at last count. He lives around Palm Desert and is involved in charity work.
I gave him a full interview in 2005, when he donated pretty much every slot car and parts he had left to me for safekeeping.
I since donated all the artifacts to the LASCM which appears to be the safest place at this time.

The car above was one of five entered in the 1973 "Western States Championship", sponsored by Bruce, and which was the largest slot car race that year.
They had been built by Lee Gilbert, with motors built by Bob Green, except Bruce's car that had a Steube motor. This formed Lee's "Super Team", with talented drivers such as Lee and John Cukras. None made the main event in circumstances that had to do with... a brutal change in weather!

The LASCM now has three of the five cars, two of them having a replica chassis built by the very talented Steve Okeefe, while all other parts including bodies are 100% original.
