I want to give a big thanks to Eddie Cordle at Cordle Model Speedway for allowing us to come race for the day. Once again we weathered a stormy day, stayed dry inside, and played toy cars all day long. Eddie has hosted many traveling series races, and he knew just how to handle us. The track was good shape. He did a fantastic job working the parts counter and race directing all day.

Once again we had race prizes donated by Angry Turtle Slot Car Products, this time they doubled their amount of race prizes. No one went home empty handed.

We decided to try something new and host a slot car swap meet the same day as the race. Despite the weather we had a nice turnout for that. We also had a local charity grilling dogs and burgers for us all day long. Here are some pictures of that...

Up next was 4-inch NASCAR on the Hillclimb.I grabbed the pole by a narrow margin over James. In the A-Main James ran into some bad luck in the first two heats which allowed me to stretch out an early lead. Second, third, and fourth fought all race long, for a tight finish.

For the Grand Finale (GTP) we signed up 14 driver's again to go to battle the "Monster" at CMS . This race was extremely close and we had 5 different leaders in the A Main.

James Merriman started out by laying down a blistering fast TQ time, followed closely by Taylor Davis in second.

Once the race started James had some trouble once again in the first two heats which allowed Taylor and myself to battle for the lead. Once Taylor went to red lane that allowed Jordan Tillery to close the gap and battle for the top spot. However that was short lived once Russell Dobbs, who showed up late without taking even a single practice lap claimed the top spot! Russel was bad fast and we race door to door for three heats. Going into the final heat Russell and I started off side by side, I was on black and he was on white. With 36 seconds to go Russell fell off and lost the lead and second from a hard charging James Merriman. This was by far one of the most exciting races I've been in! I think the overall lap totals can confirm that as well.

That does it for race #4 of the first year for the Outlaw Scale Series. We have one event left in 2015, on Saturday December 12th at Flashbacks Model Raceway in Snellville,Georgia. It's the championship event, and a huge turnout is expected from near and far. Don't miss this one! Look for more information to be posted soon!

Another great "Outlaw" race day thanks to Ralph Thorne and Eddie Cordle.  The track was in great shape and Ralph ran a good show as usual with the racing being really close in all classes.  It's very interesting to note that the lap totals for Nascar and GTP were not that far apart, basically just one lap per heat.  I would have liked to have run in GTP too but a previously scheduled engagement in Atlanta kept me from competing in the GTP race.

BTW... I thought that the racers swap shop was a good idea and I would like to see that continued at future races.

Great report, Ralph :good:  Wish I had been there, of course.

No doubt in my mind I could have beat Merriman in GTP.

:laugh2:  Just kidding, Charlie, seeing if anybody was paying attention :D I'm not even close to being in their league as a driver.

When Ralph and James are 1/2, one lap apart, you know they had to be flying. :sun_bespectacled:

I've been chasing those guys for years now and all I've found is that the harder I try, the farther behind I get.
