Recently two issues have been causing some confusion. The following will hopefully help clear things up a little.
1. Assigning track sections at end of race.
In the past we have always deferred to the track owner or race director to determine which track section a driver would be given based on his stopping position. Unfortunately this has led to some problems in consistency and, with ORS racing being so close, could possibly lead to affecting finishing position. So from this date forward a driver will be given the last section number he has completely passed. This will make these decisions uniform over all ORS races and remove any subjectivity from the decision. It's simple......Is he completely past that number?.......NO.......then he gets the previous one.
2. Body height for Anglewinder and Can-Am+.
Combining the two classes was an experiment to help grow both classes. It was, and is, somewhat a work in progress. And with more racers there are, rightfully so, more questions about the details in the rules. Teching two different types of cars, with different rules, and that will be raced together has led to some allowances in tech that can't continue. You the racers deserve better. The BoD will be working on this and will post the final revised limits within 2 weeks. Anyone who has raced RA or Can-Am+ this year will be given a "pass" at the next event at Fremont but must meet the new rules for the next ORS race.
