PJ Raceway will host the 1/32 Womp Nationals!

 

Sunday, December 20 at 10 AM

The rules are as follows:

1/32 Parma, Champion, or Riggen Womp chassis
Brass or bronze oilite bushings only
No reinforcing of the chassis
No cutting of the chassis
Weight may be added
1/8" front & rear axles only
No offsetting of wheels (must be centered)
.750" minimum front & rear tire diameter
.850" Maximum front & rear tire diameter
3-1/4" (3.250") track width front & rear
Front axle must spin
Front may have a free wheel tire
Chassis may be tweaked or bent as needed
Chassis must have 1/16' clearance under front & back of chassis
No hollow axles allowed
Motor may be screwed in or soldered
Holes may be made in chassis for motor screws
Motor will be JK Retro Hawk Only
Pinion will be restricted to 8t only
Any crown gear may be used as long as it clears track by 1/16"
All 4 tires must touch the tech block during tech
NASCAR body only  LEGENDS Bodies Only
Body must be secured with clips & tape
Body must have three numbers, one on roof and one on each door
Body must have a sponsor on it

All racing will be all Main format.
Qualifying to seed which main each driver will be in.
Race will be raced on the 140' Hillclimb.

$100 race bucks to win
$60 race bucks for second
$40 race buck for third

I would think 48 pitch gears since 1/8" axles are required and of course they are inlines.

 

As noted, they are working on sources for NASCAR Womp bodies.

The 8 tooth pinion requirement is what PJ uses for FCR's using 1/8 axles and 48 pitch gears.

I raced in a $150, winner take all, Womp race back in 1983 at Mark Mattei's Cycle Smithy.
 
I sold my move-up to the Main, to the fifth place guy in my Semi, for $20.
 
If I ran again, I would be sponsored by Otis, my man.

Glad you clarified that because Otis My Man was the nightclub scene from Animal House.

Just got word LEGENDS BODIES now and not NASCAR.

 

I was 98% sure someone would understand the "my man" ref.

 

Better get the rules writer to put a thickness minimum on the body ref.

Womp 1/32 chassis,retro hawk motor,legends body,racing at the world famous Port Jeff raceway , sounds  like a lot of fun! Pretty even playing field.
