Is there any advantage to allowing the front wheels to spin independently on a banked oval track?  If so what can be soldered to the 1/8" front axle to allow freewheeling?

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark

I always make my fronts independent & free wheeling ..... I don't know if it helps ? But it CANT HURT !!

The Brass collar works great ..... But...... If you don't have one ???

I like koford's 1/8 axel washer 's . They are copper & solider well  .

I hold the axel straight up & down . Slide the wheel on backwards..... till just the tip pokes out .

Slide the copper washer on the end...... Add just a drop of acid flux ..... Solder washer on tip of axel straight & square.

Slide your wheel off & turn around & oil.... Add washers , slide through chassis. Add other wheel   & lock it down with set screw.

Now one set screw & you can change out the whole front........ :heat:  :dash2:

You should probably buy the collars...........

That is a great way to make sure to keep everything square no matter what is used.

Thanks

Mark
