Recently Lukeyboy900 suggested having a 1/43 scratchbuilders thread. This is not the first time this has been suggested and certainly won't be the last!

It is true that, during the last year or so, scratchbuilding posts in the sven or eight forums that have 1/43 sections, have been few and far between.

But that does not mean that scratchbuilding has stopped, it is just that regular builders have not been posting much.

I think that, in view of the great new builds we are starting to see already this year, that the time is right to start such a thread.

But the big question is 'Where'!

At the moment, the busiest 1/43 groups are on Facebook but, for ongoing discussions and continuity, traditional forums are easier to follow.

I am posting this message on Slot Car Illustrated, Home Racing World, SlotForum, and Slotblog. Let's see what response this gets!

For those who have not tried scratchbuilding in 1/43, why not have a go, it is easier than you think!

OK, the floor is yours!

Regards,

Lloyd

My suggestion is to post 1/43 scratchbuiding threads in this forum.

In general, more specialized subforums are created at Slotblog once there is a demonstrated need for further subdivision. And right now, there's so little 1/43-related stuff being posted to Slotblog that the need for a subforum dedicated to 1/43 scratchbuilding has not be shown.

1/43 seems like a perfect scale for home tracks. I would be interested in seeing what comes out.

As they say - a picture(s) is worth a 1000 words!  I once built John Force's Castrol funny car in 1/32 and it was pretty kool.

There are a number of people producing resin bodies and selling them on eBay.
