Feel free to share with your local raceway owner. Perhaps they will like it and post it in the raceway.

With your permission, I would like to post them at my track.

The good news is most of the guys racing in our series already follow these.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

13. When I get home I tell my wife I won... she'll never know otherwise.

My wife cries a little on the inside each time I come home late from a toy car race. Oh, I'm sure she doesn't suspect I was doing anything else - she knows her husband was out that late racing toy cars; that's what makes her cry a little bit.

Another racer's wife that I met said, "It's such a sweet hobby." In truth, I think she "gets it".

Sorry about the nerf. "Sorry? Sorry? There's no apologizing in slot car racing!"

Besides, where would I even begin?   I should probably start with my wife ...

"I don't often get very many "fast laps" but I very often get many laps quickly."

The only thing I know about slot cars is if I had a good time when I leave the building! I can count the times I didn't on one two three hands!

My wife cries a little when I tell her that I am not going racing on any given Thursday evening.

I think she likes me out of the house so that she can catch up with those "mushy" TV shows she likes to watch. :)

My wife cries a little, or a lot, each time she sees a receipt for one of Justin's races!

My wife roles over, opens one eye, and asks if I had a good time. Not sure she remembers doing so. In the morning I burden her with the details.

I've obviously struck a chord. Actually whenever I talk about my slot car exploits my wife rolls her eyes, makes zoom zoom noises, and laughs uncontrollably. :-(

OK if we are going to add to the list.

15) Perform your turn marshaling duties as though it is your car on the track and you are racing it.

16)  Learn to fake sincerity when you apologize for nerfing someone out of the slot. (Once you learn to fake sincerity, the world is your oyster.)

There is nothing more insincere than an apology after a nerf - especially when you came right up on someone, check up a number of times so that you wouldn't knock them out, and they still didn't move out of the way.

I have spent way too many races slowing to allow faster racers to go by until I started to get podium finishes just keeping it in the slot. I still will not hold up a racer who comes right up on me. I hate it when they de-slot after going by, you move ahead again while they are marshaled, and you have to do "the dance" again (and again). This happens to everyone, even at the big races, and is just part of the fun of the hobby!

I have come to the point that I just yell out Rule 11 at some of our races.

unfortunately there will always be a certain few that feel none of these rules apply to them,  that makes for a really bad racing atmosphere for everyone there
