Quite the contrast in top three Can-Am chassis. But they sure seem to work.
Posted 15 January 2016 - 01:00 PM
If an analysis was done on each of the podium chassis, I bet the weight distribution and rate of flex are very similar.
They look different but perform the same.

Another super close Checkpoint qualifying with last year's TQ Ben Cervantes Sr coming out on top again!
Congrats, Ben!

And the Hitec cars and Don Campbell cars also worked very well, but were significantly different than many others!!
Posted 16 January 2016 - 01:47 AM
Allan's third place DCR car and Don's fourth place DCR car (that only finished about a foot apart) are completely different designs with a 6 gram weight differential, and I know Don's chassis is much more flexible than Allan's.

Rick said the new DCR tripods were much faster that the straight rail DCR, but he didn't get the tires right in the A.
it seems the "softer" chassis are more sensitive to track conditions, as Ben Jr was fast as soon as he got the right tires on the car

Great run, Bryan. That chassis design seems to work well for you. Such a great turnout on the West coast for a great race. Fantastic competition in all the mains.
