This thread is intended to post the race results of January, February, March, and April where we are running 4 flexi-car car classes. This is being done because this year for the first time is divided into three seasons. Please refer to this years schedule in order to understand the unique nature of 2016 MySeries.  The first 4 months, we are running JK Indy Car, 4" NASCAR, JK LMP, and GTP.

 

Also, for the first time, the series is splitting the driver field into two groups. Group 1 is the more experienced racers, while Group 2 are the less experienced racers. The directors of MySeries had not yet made a final decision on which drivers would be in each group for the 1st MySeries race. However, the two groups were sufficiently defined prior to the 2nd race at Holly Hill. Therefore, the race results shown below is being presented with respect to the racer's group number. 

 

The first race was in Melbourne, Florida hosted by Bill Pinch at his TheRaceway.Biz 145 ft hillclimb.

I also want to say that the total number of entrants was up from last years January race. 39 last year VS 45 this year.

More entries less classes, looks like you guys hit the sweet spot on what the Racers want to run.

Agreed, Tony. 4 flexi-car classes this year; 3 flexi-car and 2 wing car classes last year. Plus there was a huge increase at Holly Hill over last year. 55 this year VS 38 last year. I will post Holly Hill results latter today.

Looks like the rules meeting I was a guest at proved fruitful. I'll have my jk Indy car for the combined races.

Tony, I thought that we are running 4" NASCAR and JK LMP at the combined races. We are doing that because NASCAR and LMP use only the Retro Hawk motor; same as IRRA Can-Am and F1.

The My Series series moved to Holly Hill for our second race meet of the year on 2/6/16.

 

We had another great turn-out, having 55 total entrants between the four flexi car classes. Furthermore, we had enough group 2 racers to run two mains in each of the car classes. This made for a lot better racing, as well as, closer racing. 

 

I was able to scan to race sheets that I got from Phil. So this report will insert these race sheets.

100%; we are running 4" NASCAR and JK LMP in the combined races. Do NOT buy an Indy Car. Sorry Tony, but it was never Indy Car mixed in with Can-Am and F1.

One of the reasons the races were so close and greatly run, was due to Doc taking the time to make up a list of group 1 & 2 racers.

My list was just a suggestion for the MySeries directors. But someone had to do it to move things along as we said we were going to do this year. I am just trying to get things moving in the right direction.

If anyone has any advise on how to improve these race reports, please let me know.  I really like the detail that we get from the printout from Holly Hill. I was able to scan them to get them saved in my laptop. I think that P1 now has detailed printouts also.

OK, its time to write up the 3rd race of the year. This months race was at Marcus's track in Winter Garden, P1 Raceway.  We might have had a record turnout this time at 65 entries. For this year, MySeries has organized the drivers into two groups; Group 1 is for the more experienced drivers, while Group 2 is for new racers and novices. This grouping allows us to eliminate qualifying.

 

First race was the group 2 drivers in the JK Indy Car class.  Dale King put this race away with a very good drive; finishing with 226 laps.

I don't know why Bill decided to DQ himself, so the podium was made of Tom Hobbs (2nd), Dale King (1st), and Bob Calfee (3rd).

 

 

Next up were the group 1 racers with their Indy Cars. Matt Boman crushed everybody again for his third straight victory in Indy Cars.

The podium was made up of Dennis Demole (2nd), Matt Boman (1st), and Doc Dougherty (3rd)

 

 

4" NASCAR Group 2 race results: I think that this is Doug's first victory in MySeries.

The podium was made of Dale King (2nd), Doug Demski (1st), and Charles Hurley (3rd).

 

 

4" NASCAR Group 1 race results: This race was very close; I had no idea that I won until the race was over.

The podium racers were: Matt Boman (2nd), Doc Dougherty (1st), and Terry Tawney (3rd).

 

 

Next car class was the very popular JK LMP class. The race results for the group 2 drivers is shown below. Dale King won this race also with another great drive.

The podium drivers are shown below: Doug Demski (2nd), Dale King (1st), and Charles Hurley (3rd).

 

 

LMP Group 1 race results: Dennis had us covered on this one; his car was lighting fast!

The podium was made of Terry Tawney (2nd), Dennis Demole (1st), and Matt Boman (3rd).

 

 

The fourth car class for the series is GTP. The group 2 race results are shown below. Doug Demski took his second race victory of the day.

The podium drivers are: Charles Hurley (2nd), Doug Demski (1st), and Dale King (3rd).

 

 

The group 1 GTP race results are shown below. This was the closest race of the day.  I think that Matt lead late in this race, but a crash allowed Nathan to get past him. Matt and Nathan finished on the same lap, but Nathan had track position.

The podium was made of: Matt Boman (2nd), Nathan Pickett (1st), and Marcus Ramos (3rd).

On the behalf of all of the racers, I want to thank Ed Hoffman for hosting the 4th race of the 2016 Florida MySeries and the final event of the Spring series. We ran boxstock JK Indy Car, 4" NASCAR, JK LMP, and GTP. April was the last event of 2016 for the GTP car class.  As before provided that we had enough racers, we ran two mains in each car class, separated out as Group 1 and Group 2.

 

Box stock JK Indy Car race results: In this class, we had too few group 2 racers, so we decided to run a single main having 11 drivers.  Matt Boman made it a clean sweep of the Spring series having won all 4 races. Congrats Matt.
