I am a fan of the vintage stuff and I really do like the Big Dynamic Drag slicks/Mag wheel combos. Gaudy sure but they worked well for me back in the '60s.

But I am confused... checking on eBay there are four different part numbers?

608, 609, 685, 686!

They all look the same as as best as I can determine all the same size.

608/609 (just a repackaging of 685/686)?

So if that's the case what's the different between the sets? 608-609  685-686?

I believe the difference in the 608 vs 609 is simply chrome vs natural. Looking at the packaging I would believe that is the difference between the 685 vs 686.

What is the differnce 608 vs 685 I do not know.

Paul, if you want to get technical,

608 and 609 were the original part numbers for chrome and polished respectively. The chromes were .49 cents more. The part numbers were changed to 685 and 686 respectively effective 9/1/65. The price and description remained the same. Only the package changed.

And now you know.  :)

I sort of figured it was packaging changes on the numbers, and I had recalled the chrome/no-chrome. I also wish their replacement tires didn't have as much flash from the molds, especially on inside.
