Not a question but I was given this info by a racer and wanted to pass it on.

"The Econo Lodge has rooms for $53 right now thru Hotels.com. Motel 6 is up to $68. If you have anybody you want to share that with..."

Knights Inn Hilliard through their website $44.23 per night. I stayed at the location on the 12th of this month and it is the same level as the Motel 6. Two exits north on the 270 bypass took about 10 minutes to get to the track. Plenty of places to eat at the exit also. It is basic like Motel 6 – bed, shower, TV, and wi-fi.

The Knights inn use to be a motel 6. I stayed there for years with rc racing. Basic room. But in 15 years the water pressure has always been great and the showers are always hot. Bob Evans across the street max and ermas next door. Accross the highway is plenty more with starbucks and Dave and busters.

Mike,

I read your race format post. My question is: How do you decide the fastest 16?

I would guess that it is qualifying, maybe one minute, one racer at a time.

Top 16 lap totals from the heats, placed into Semis by odds and evens, i.e. 1-3-5, 2-4-6 etc. Top four from each Semi go to Main.

Since I'm a rookie to the R4...

Are the Friday Coupe races the same format as the Can-Am and F1? Meaning: do you run the heats and then move up the top 16 or do you run the Coupes as a conventional race?

At tech do we wait in line with our cars or can we come back to attach the body later?

Thanks.

Not sure of the race format, I believe it is qualify into mains and total laps and sections determines the winner.

As for tech you wait in line with the car with the body off.

Yes, some things need to be teched with the body off, then the body has to be mounted to finish tech because of body height specs, etc.

I apologize. I had edited the "R4 Racing Format" post to include the GTC program but uploaded the old version.

GTC (both versions) will qualify then be broken down into however many heats makes sense depending on number of entries. The format is known as "one and done." After all heats have been run all totals are compared to determine the winner. GTC-FK goes first and the winner is invited to "move-up" to the GTC-Pro class if desired.

Secondly it needs mentioned that F1 requires .812" tires with .050" rear clearance.

Also it is recommended that you bring your "geezer googles," if needed, to tech so you re-pin your body quickly and not hold up the tech line.

I have a question concerning the paint clinic. Are we to supply our body and does it matter if it is cut out?

The body is supplied as Steve does a lot of preparation of each body before the clinic, i.e. masking, etc.

$20 per class except GTC-FK which is $30 but includes one Hawk Retro motor. Racers will be allowed to purchase at least one additional motor for $10.
