This yellow La Cucaracha was recently on eBay and I wished that I could have bought it.
Does anyone here claim it or know who made it? It is made from resin and not polyurethane as the originals.
There is a great story here!

I'd say ask 1/24hemi via an eBay PM. He was selling the pink Cuc, he was probably selling the yellow one also, but I don't recall.

The yellow one was sold by ebay seller: maryj50315 and said her husband maded it!

Maybe the pink Cuc was made there too. 124hemi sells a lot of cars he built using parts from different sources. He's in Torrence, CA. Where are Mary & her husband located? This seller ID wasn't found on eBay.

Another resin body La Cucaracha recently on eBay. Went for some nice change though not being an original, but nice anyway
Does anyone know who the genius is behind these clever reproductions?

Not sure he wants his name known, but he is a great craftsman. We do some trading from time to time. He doesn't do email much, mostly his wife does email sporadically. I usually deal with him through the mail!

Is he duplicating the windshields, or buying them from somewhere? Really a "thinge".

Did we ever find out if windshields and roll bars are available separately?

I will pursue this a little with the guy that makes this stuff. He doesn't do high volume of anything, he just likes to see if he can make nice copies of stuff. He doesn't frequent any forums, he's just happy to mold and make copies that don't look like copies. I will see if he wants any of his info on here and if he is interested in selling parts. I did just recently get him in touch with another collector that wanted more built than I could fit in my schedule. I know he is pretty busy right now.
If enough guys want Cuc windshields and roll bars, you ought to contact Brad Blohm and offer to buy 10-20 and maybe he will take it on, if he has time.
Here is a pic of a Cuc the above guy sent me a few weeks ago along with a Manta Ray body and Eldon dragster I haven't started on yet. The bodies in this picture are all his work. I thought the Cuc was original until I talked to him.

I'm in. How do we contact Brad Blohm?

Brad is on this forum sometimes. He is on eBay under bblohm and has stuff listed now.

Brad's Slotblog display name is bradblohm, if you wish to PM him here. He will get a notification email that he has a new PM awaiting him, unless he's changed his notification settings and few mmbers do.

When you request parts from a resin caster, you need to remember making one part is not worthwhile at all for the guy doing it. He has the expense of the chemicals, the time, which can be a lot more than you may realize. Clear items like windshields can have a lot of rejects and it all takes lots of time.
That's why I suggest it would be wise for a few guys to get together and maybe request 10-20 items and send some money upfront.

I think that Brad already makes the Cuc windshield and rollbar, unless the mold has worn out in the meantime...

Brad Blohm didn't make those resin Cuc's though, did he?

Cox Chap 2 clear and chrome bits, 2D clear and chrome bits, 2E clear and chrome bits, Ford GT, Cheetah, Lotus, Monogram, Revell, Russkit, uh, uh, Cucaracha, MAN, when will the list end! I actually did recently finish the Lil Cuc windscreen and rollbar. One down, a thousand to go!!!
