Around 1965 Eldon offered these upgraded versions of their cars for an extra $1.00. I am told the motor is called a "short stack" Mabuchi and has brushes set up like early 16d's. Although there are only 4 cars listed, if you look closely at the photos on the right side, the Coronet and Dodge pickup are fitted with these aluminum wheels. The motor was also used in the Dragsters however there is a "key" in the can side bushing that keeps the motor upright in the typical car chassis but the key is made 90 degrees around for the dragster version.

If anyone wants one of these fliers,I have a few. Sorry but they have been folded and are not 100% flat.
I think $1 will cover costs.

Gary,
here are some of these kits. The motor was indeed a Mabuchi FT16D with shorter can.
If the catalog pictures did show more suspected models than listed, the kits actually produced were:
Corvette Sting Ray “Speed Shop” RTR *
Ferrari TR “Speed Shop” RTR *
Offy Roadster “Speed Shop” RTR *
Lotus-Ford 34 Indy “Speed Shop” RTR *
