So, how is everyone doing?

It's been talked about for months now, and no one is doing anything about it. What am I talking about? The USRA.

This is an open message to Shontel. Everyone has had enough; please step down as president of the USRA. If you chose not to, a new organization will be forming up very soon.

It would also be nice for you to turn over the money in your personal account that belongs to the USRA. No USRA president has ever kept these funds in a personal account. You decide what you want to do. These are not threats, just the facts.

Yours truly,

Chubby

Really nothing? 365 views and nothing. The silence is deafening! This site is nothing but pages and pages of opinions about toy cars. To use a quote about sealed motors I heard at the track "never has so much been written about so little" but when something like this is done in a non-profit org... you have nothing to say? That's funny!

I don't race under the USRA banner but I support what Joe is doing. Apparently Shontel has not responded to attempts to resolve recent issues, so she has been "called out" publicly. To my knowledge she does not post here but this will get her attention.

The same post was put up on a more "wing" oriented forum but was taken down.

So... any wing car/USRA racers have anything to say?

I disagree, Jim. Chubby isn't a whiner. He's voicing a wrongdoing on a public forum.  :clapping:

1) Chubby isn't a whiner, he is a winner!

2) "No control" you must be kidding USRA members have complete control. They can simply refuse to renew their membership and/or join the new organization if it is formed.

Cheers

Don't get me started.
As if winning a slot car race means anything.
Look!
I won!

I have read every Slotblog post Chubby has ever made.
He is one of the most humble and sincere individuals who ever placed a car on a track or made a post in a slot car blog.
Anybody want to challenge me on that, bring it on. I'm here.

Really?

Uh, he's voicing a pile of crap on a public forum, making demands and threats based on his vast experience as a slot car racer.

I guess he doesn't own a phone.

I agree, it is crap, and I also agree he is voicing it on a public forum. No disagreement there, Jim.

making demands

Nope. He isn't demanding anything. Read it again. His wording is very precise and not demanding in the least.

If It was, I would have deleted it.

and threats

Nope. He isn't threatening anything. Read it again. His wording is very precise and not threatening in the least.

If It was, I would have deleted it.

Chubby is the epitome of an experienced slot racer. How much slot car experience does one need to see, and expose, wrongdoing?

Answer: None.

I guess he doesn't own a phone.

Whether the man owns a phone or not is nobody's business but his.

Slicing and dicing is not like a conversation, ya know? So I won't bother...

Seems the point is being missed here.

Chubby, who apparently has garnered respect and power through his ability to drive a slot car, has decided to use that to present his argument that:

"Everyone has had enough". Yuk!

I just think he's way off base... if he even had one to stand on that was something other than the fact that he won a slot car race.

He has no idea about precedent regarding where the huge store-pile of money the USRA accrues each year is stored, let alone any reason to think he can ask Shontel to step down... he's representing who, exactly?

"It's been talked about for months now," yeah right.

Hey, Chubby, you get what you pay for and if you don't have the power to get what you want I guess you'll have to garner some votes at the next meeting to get your way.

Be patient, you're halfway there.

Let me explain this for those who can't or choose not to understand.

When NASCAR drivers had a problem that needed attention they sent Dale Earnhardt, not Coo Coo Marlin, to talk to the powers that be.

What Chubby is doing is using his good name to voice concerns that a number of lesser known racers are having with the USRA.These concerns were out there for a long time with no resolution. They have now been brought to a head by Chubby.

Cheers

Hey, Jim,

Pretty sure Chubby's a paid-up USRA member and in my eyes that gives him a bit of standing even if he isn't a current USRA official.

How about you? Are you a current USRA member?

His comment "that it's been talked about for months now" is an accurate statement based on my personal knowledge.

Dunno why you feel the need to attack the messenger here, especially since AFAIK you haven't raced in a USRA-sanctioned race in a good while. Why do you feel you have a dog in this hunt?

I said don't get me started... :dash2:

Bill:

Then Chubby needs to first pick up the phone (if he has one) and contact Shontel, bringing to bear all his power and authority and/or the power and authority of those he represents to deal directly with his/their elected representative.

Even If this has been done and Shontel won't answer the phone or address the "problems," IMO this post and its manner is not appropriate. Aside from Chubby's vague silly accusations just what is it that Shontel has done?  :laugh2:

Greg,

If the messenger is part of and a party to the message and he puts his message here for me to respond to, he's getting what he asked for.

Rob,

Yes, you? You have a point?

As far as I'm concerned Chubby's name and reputation carry the day.

Rob,

I would venture to guess that a very small minority here have any recent experience or involvement with the USRA. That being said, I am sure the majority here do not know any of the details of what is going on or what the root issue is with what has Joe so revved up about.

I am sure if someone wanted to take the time to put all the soiled laundry out there, there would be plenty of paragraphs of opinions that at the end of the day could have been summed up with one sentence.

Issues, Matt; plural.

And please know that Chubby is not the only active USRA member who is concerned. His post should be categorized as "taking one for the team", based on what I've been hearing, secondhand admittedly, for quite some time.
