This weekend BPR will host the usual SCRRA 2nd Saturday Retro races on the Flat track with the normal schedule of F1 tech at 10AM followed by lunch and then Can Am. In a little twist, both races will be part of Mike Low's "Outlaw" race and an HO race will follow the SCRRA events.  Results from all the races will be tallied to determine the overall winner and a LOT of money is at stake!!

Here is the plan for "THE OUTLAW" race according to Mike...........

The race will be on Saturday March 12th at BPR, right after the SCRRA flat track race that day.

The race format will be A and B semis heading into the main final. HO IROC style on the HO track at BPR.

I will prep the HO cars for the IROC races.

$ payout to top six: $200, $100, $100, $50, $50, $50

Three ways to get into the semi races:

1.      Win the SCRRA F1 or Can-Am race that day, or if you didn’t win, the highest two lap totals from either races on the flat track.

2.      Race the consy HO IROC, top two moves into the semis.

3.      Race the SCHOR Hardbody class race that day, top two moves into the semis.

If anyone has any questions, I'm sure Mike will chime in here to clear anything up.........

      See you there!! :good: $$$

BPR has a Cornin built track that I moved there a year ago. Seems hard to get a HO program going at a 1/24 commercial raceway. The HO guys are used to racing on home tracks and the 1/24 guys... well are 1/24 guys. It is a different world of slot racing to some, but the more different scales of slot racing I have done (HO, 1/32 plastic cars magnet and non magnet, 1/24 flat track and retro) it becomes all the same to me.

So I am hosting this small (pun :laugh2: ) event at BPR so the HO track gets used.

I will be there about 1pm sat, after my work in the am, to get the event going  :D

The iroc HO cars are Tyco440x2 with F1 bodies, with some minor tuning and a little stronger traction magnets.

I've tuned them so they are not stuck to the track, like some HO cars, they will need to be driven.

Besides, I'm giving $ away and maybe pizza

Cool beanerage, Mike...   Hat's off to you for taking the responsibility of hosting

this...

I tried to get an HO thing going at a 1/24th & RC place in the '90's...   Owner wouldn't

*go* for a BuckTrax, but said *maybe* to a tricked-up Tomy or Tyco track...  However.

my love-life got in the way and I never even finished the table  :laugh2:

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know what a Cornin track is...  Similar to other

routed tracks?...         Any photos or links?...

I love those Tyco F-1s...   Especially, the Chaparral 2K...   Must have 30 or more

race-worn warriors, here...   Glad you are making them *driver's cars*...

Have you ever tried the G-Jet or V-Jet?...

Thanks, again, for the info...   Best wishes for a most excellent event, Mike...

I'll be there Sat for the flattrack race. Might have to stick around for this HO racing. Seems like it would be fun. Neat little track back there.

What time will all the HO stuff begin, you may have mentioned it but I'm blind lately.  I have to be at Campus Billiards at 2:30 until ? for my teams Tri-annual tournament that day but if we lose, or get done in time I'd like to come over and race the itty bitty cars since Campus is basically across the street from BPR.

Besides, I'd also like to try my new Viper-Jet and tune on the Super Stock a little.

   Craig,

The  Flat track races are generally over at about 3PM or so.  I'm sure Mike will add something when he sees this.

I will be there at 1ish to run the schor class hardbody consy race. It is one of ways to make the semis.

The other way is to run the scrra flat track retro race.

And the 3rd way is to run the iroc hardbody HO race, which will run after the flat track race.

Hopefully I can get done with the pool thing and get there in time for the iroc hard body race.

That's the plan, whether it plays out, only time will tell.

In today's Flat track action, F1 saw Gary Donahoe victorious with a super drive in F1 followed closely by Bill Vanderziel in 2nd and Marc Franco with an equally SUPER drive in 3rd!  Great run Marc!  :victory:

Can Am was the usual slugfest with Bryan Warmack coming out on top while closely followed by Dale Yamashita and Gary Donahoe who battled it out the entire race and were separated by INCHES at the end!!

I don't know the results of the HO races or the final result of the combined races but I'm sure Mike will have something shortly......

Pics and more to follow in the race report.
