This is a special birthday for Jim this year - his daughter gave birth to his first grandchild,  a 9+ lb baby boy last Friday.

Happy birthday, Grandpa!

Happy Birthday, Jim! It sounds like you got an early birthday present this year. :)  My own grandsons are seven and nine, but I have a few years on you, too. :laugh2:

Thanks, guys. Needless to say, the pace has been a bit hectic for the past week -- little or no time for slot cars.

Since my daughter is nearly 30 now, it's been a while since I've had the "baby experience." But he's healthy, happy (when he's fed and diaper changed), and extremely handsome. After all, he has a bit of my DNA in his lineage.

Looking forward to things returning to some semblance of normalcy now so I can do a little racing, too. See you on the tracks.

I'd say my birthday was overshadowed this year by the R4. Maybe next year, I can celebrate the big day by racing in Ohio.  ??

Nothing "overshadows" family, Jim. :D  I didn't attend R4, either, but I felt like I was there, thanks to Cheater's awesome coverage.

Wiser words were never written. Thank you, my friend.
