I was crusing the net and found this if anybody is interested... Interesting to read anyways... Not so sure I would give this a whirl in the backyard... For some reason, deep down inside, boiling a pot of this doesn't sound like fun!... :laugh2:

Hi,

I tried this. If you want to soften tires this will do the trick, almost soften them too much! So beware!

As far as sticky goes very mild stickiness wears off kind of quickly.

In my own opinion 60% cut tire glue is way better.

I think this is for making tires harder....Like buying "treated" tires.....This is from the time when tires were SBR rubber with too much traction, though there is a date from 2010,not sure how this would work on today's compounds.....Just thought it would give folks something to think about today besides candy.... :D

I think he talking about thinning tire goop.....

What Is cut tire glue?

I read this as another name for thinning tire glue to 60% glue plus 40% solvent.

I have the same problem my tires start drying up and I got tired of buying new tires. The place that I run my cars at was selling this stuff by Trinity called yellow dot traction and it works and worth the cost of this product, now can I can not get this stuff any more.

I tried different hand creams and tried this paint remover for latex paint removed some of the dried surface material and also penetrate in the tire. I wipe off and the tire softens up a bit and traction but does not last long so then I use automotive belt dressing, work it in to the tire get some descent traction.

I tried  a silicone latex caulk and foam sealant remover and seems to work better than the other stuff I mention, and then use that belt dressing and much better results. I know can redirect my money to buying more parts and less buying of new tires.

I just read this again.....This seem to be something that was done BEFORE mounting tires.....I still think this is for giving tires less traction and help them slide more, though there are parts that say it softens tires....Maybe it did both?....Still interesting to read.....Crap,I don't know...... :laugh2:

Trinity Sticky Fingers does a nice job softening up tires that haven't been used for a few months.

"Perc" isn't something that's easy to find for the consumer. Maybe a sympathetic dry cleaner but you're not finding it at Ace Hardware or Home Depot..... oh, at high temps it decomposes into very nasty chemicals.
