Anyone have any suggestions regarding which bench top magnifier is best?   Time to face reality, but I want the highest quality lens I can afford.  I would also prefer for it to be lighted but that is a secondary concern.   Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I need reading glasses and the pair I have don't really work. I found this Donegan DA-2 Optivisor on Amazon. You get your choice of magnification. i goes from no mag to 3.5x. I use the 1.5 and it makes thing look much bigger. I got the light that goes over the frame and uses LED lights. It is found on amazon as well. The lense set up costs 41.00$ , that is the cheapest I have found the Donegan, either on the net or in person.

O.C.White.....Truley the best. Pro grade stuff, and could be pricey.

I finally splurged on a Luxo KFM-1A for my bench from Brownells (#538 100 002). The light encircles the lens & has much less distortion than my old Skil magnifier with the side mounted bulb. It is really pricey but it has intercepted multiple exploding shards from Dremel 409 cutting wheels.

Thanks guys.  Certainly some food for thought there.  I'm checking out all three.

Might want to check out the "MAG-EYES' product line. many options including lights, interchangeable different power lenses and a cap clip-on.  I have a lighted cap with one.

The 'links' include JoAnne fabrics and Cabela's and others worldwide.

You can pick different magnifying strengths. The lid is really good for keeping dust away from the top of the lens.

I got the 5. Good enough for slot car business. When I have to look at something really small (like micro electronic circuits) I combine it with one of these to get additional magnification.
