We should be having our first vintage slot car get-together Tuesday, 4/26/16, at Slots-A-Lot Raceway, Franklin Square, NY, on Long Island at 7 PM.

Tell your friends that are into the old slot cars of the '60s and '70s and come do some laps with them. $15 for the night with a dedicated track for vintage cars only.

I'll be there, Mig. Maybe we can work out details for future meetings then.

I think I may have one or two vintage things laying around here I can bring.  :)

Joe,

If you want to bring your whole car collection to Slots-A-Lot, you can borrow my van. I also have a 12' enclosed trailer if you want to bring all the parts and model kits too.

Wish we had something like that within 200 miles. What kind of controllers do you use? Just vintage or modern?

Cool.  Just in case I ever have the chance, do these hook up the same as new controllers or are black and white reversed?

Great night of running some cars that haven't turned a wheel in fifty years. The track was in great shape thanks to Wayne. They even special ordered tires that would work with our vintage stuff. Fun night. Can't wait till the next one.

Had a fun night. Thanks to all who participated. Hard to comprehend that some of the cars I raced last night have not seen the track in 50 years :clapping:

Some ran better than others as was to be expected :)

It turned out to be a real nice night with a good turnout for the first one. Joe Lupo brought out a nice little stash of cars. Besides the wonderful a drag cause he brought he had a nice little collection from a team that look like Museum pieces. I think he did a write-up about it when he first got it.

Pete, good eye on the Scuderia :victory: I have yet to see another.

I ran it on the strip. 50 year old Graupners still had bite

The original builder used a tiny Monogram guide from the Midget/GP cars that would not trip the beams.

About half track the crown must have been slipping and made a sound similar to fingernails on a chalkboard :bomb:

I will rectify these problems for the next meet as this thing really marched on the top end and I would like to see what she could do.

Also ran my dual Kemtron Hurst Hairy Olds with a less aggressive gear ratio. Went from 3:1 to 2.4:1. Ran exactly the same time :dash2: Car runs slower than I had hoped for. Guess it's hard getting under 2 seconds with a two pound car :)

The number 8 and 42 cars are from a Team Pittman member. The "13's" are from a GAMRA member.
