Just finished today. I've had this AMT Snapfast kit on the shelf for a while waited to be slotified. Always liked this body style.
The motor is a Ram or something like that. Mounting screws drilled in the bed and motor mounted. That black "bedliner" is some old sticky back stuff I found in a slot box and cut it to fit. Body was polished and detail painted around the windows. Other detail painted like the space between the bumpers etc. for a more realistic look. Minimum foil added and some parts box decals applied. Interior painted and lightly detailed. After some fiddling a section was removed from the chassis and everything painted black. Guide is a Cox with new braid.
The original kit wheels were used with the back being drilled through and then tapped for 5-40. Miniature jam nuts added to lock them on. Fronts are stock but the axle holes were raised to keep truck sitting level. All four tires are vintage Revell which fit the wheels perfectly.
The beauty of the whole thing is that it can easily taken apart with just a few screws.
I really enjoy converting promos and snap kits into slots as a stress reliever from more involved builds. No real plan, just wing it as I go along. Everyone I do is engineered different. If you want to see more pics of any of it let me know.
